This year will be our second Christmas in our home and the first year that it really feels like ours. Since we moved in, we’ve always been in some sort of remodeling phase (we still are with our master bathroom and kitchen), but the one room in our house that feels complete and most reflective of our style is our family room. It’s where we spend most of our time relaxing so we really wanted it to feel cozy and warm. Our decor style is rustic glam which reflects our farmhouse exterior and my love for chandeliers.

For Christmas, I wanted to make this room cozy and inviting with faux fur throws, chunky knit pillows and layered rugs. I stuck with an off-white color palette for a clean yet warm feeling. This year, we decided to upgrade our tree to this amazing flocked tree by King of Christmas. They have the most gorgeous trees! Phil loved that this one was so easy to put together – it only took him 15 minutes! We decided to forgo ornaments this year mostly because all of our old ornaments looked so tiny on this huge tree – we definitely need more. I personally love the look of a bare flocked tree though. It’s just like the trees outside, minus the freezing weather. We also got this mini flocked tree for Luna and we put it in her favorite nap spot – by the fireplace. She’s mesmerized by the fire, but we usually pull her away after a few minutes because she gets so hot. I was looking for a chunky knit throw when spotted this one and then of course I had to buy these matching pillows and tree skirt. I went to Home Goods the other week and found these huge Moroccan wedding blanket cushions – which I put under the tree for a relaxed feel. I also tossed these super soft textured pillows under it. I can’t get enough of cozy pillows and throws! This room has become my favorite in our house. Every night when the tree turns on and the fireplace is running, it just feels like Christmas night. It really is the most magical time of year. I wish we could leave this room like this forever.
