The Only Designer Jackets Worth Investing In This Fall

When it comes to pulling together an outfit in the fall and winter seasons, I typically start with my outerwear and work towards the inner layers. It’s one of the few pieces I rely on to immediately elevate an outfit. Although my wardrobe is bursting at the seams with various coats and jackets, I notice myself falling back on the same classic styles every year. I’ve realized that if there’s something you often wear repeatedly, you should really invest in a high-quality version that will allow you to maximize the cost per wear. For me, one investment-worthy item has always been a great outerwear piece.
I often head to Nordstrom for the majority of my designer purchases – and coats are no exception. I love how Nordstrom has a curated designer shop online that makes it super easy to cull through my favorite brands and catch up on what’s trending now. I know that making a huge investment on one designer piece can be nerve wracking, so I’m always mindful of a retailer’s return policy. Nordstrom makes it so easy to return your purchases whether you made them online or in-stores. Scroll on for the best designer jackets to invest in before fall kicks off.

Balmain Double Breasted Blazer
I love anything that I can wear day in and day out and never get tired of. This Balmain blazer is definitely one of those pieces. I’ve been obsessed with it since laying eyes on it years ago. I even went through several affordable options before finally caving into the real thing. No matter how hard I looked, I just couldn’t find anything that came close to Balmain’s exquisite design and fit. What I love most is that you can wear it with literally anything. I’m so glad I made the investment because I’ve already gotten a ton of wear from it and anticipate using it throughout my lifetime. You’ve probably noticed I wear it year round – it’s the perfect layer for transitioning between seasons.

Burberry Trench Coat
Fall is my favorite season because I can get by with lighter jackets like a trench coat. Burberry’s iconic trench coat remains one of my favorite designer purchases in my wardrobe. I love how it always makes everything look more chic – and adds a dressy element to any outfit. Not only is it practical and wearable through any season, but you can create various outfit combos with this versatile piece. Surprisingly, a Burberry trench holds its value and even increases over time making it worthy of the steep price tag.
