How To Elevate Your Loungewear For Fall

You’ll often find me in joggers, cozy sweatsuits, hoodies, or leggings most days. Fortunately, loungewear doesn’t necessarily mean looking unkempt. A few simple additions or even style tweaks can work to elevate your loungewear no matter where you’re going. Today, I’m sharing some of the ways I’ve been making my favorite lounge pieces look more stylish when I’m stepping out.

Pair It With Everyday Essentials

Mixing loungewear items like joggers or sweatshirts and hoodies with everyday items lets you get away with wearing them out. If I’m rocking a sweatsuit, I’ll usually opt for a pair of fun sneakers, a pom pom beanie, and sunglasses. Another way to make it work is by pairing your favorite joggers with a slim-fitting turtleneck top or wearing a hoodie with some skinny jeans.

Incorporate Tailored Outerwear

One of the best ways to dress up your loungewear pieces is to throw a chic coat on top. I love a long, tailored coat over a hoodie because it makes for an effortless street style look. However, blazers, wrap coats and anything in between work just as well.

Elevate It With Structured Accessories

An easy way to make your yoga pants look chic and put together is by styling it with structured accessories. I’m all about combat boots this season, but a sleek handbag can make a huge difference too.

Wear A Moto Jacket

Sometimes all you need is an edgy moto jacket to transform your loungewear into a cool athleisure look. It instantly elevates hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, or even sports bras. No one would ever notice you’ve been lounging around in comfort wear.

Add A Pop Of Color

I rarely wear color, but there’s no denying what a bold pop can do for your outfit. I love playing with neutrals – like layering a camel coat over an all black look or mixing gray and olive tones. However, my favorite has to be incorporating a pair of red shoes or a red handbag in to a casual outfit. It makes a beautiful statement and I always get so many compliments.

Dress It Up With Gold Jewelry

If all else fails, layer on some gold jewelry. A gold necklace or stacked bracelets will take the most casual loungewear look to next level chic. I rounded up my favorite everyday pieces that won’t break the bank below.
