Stylish Ski Clothes That Won’t Break the Bank

When I first started skiing, I opted for affordable down jackets, ski suits and separates from high-street labels. I’ve since upgraded to higher quality pieces but know that there are still many wonderful alternatives on the market. Today, I wanted to focus on high-performance yet stylish ski clothes that won’t break the bank. You can check out my other post (HERE) for where I’ve invested in my ski wardrobe. For those looking to hit the slopes soon, keep scrolling for everything from durable coats to snow boots that are all under $300.

1. Outerwear

The coat is undeniably the most important piece to your ski attire. As the outermost layer, it protects you from the wind and snow. What many people don’t realize is that there are durable, snow-proof options that are just as effective as some of the big labels. From padded puffer jackets to sleek, insulated snow jackets, it’s hard to believe all of these options are below $300.

2. Ski Layers

Once you nail down your outerwear, it’s time to coordinate what lies beneath. If you plan on spending hours on the slopes, you’ll want to invest in multiple layers for maximum insulation. Body-hugging thermals will do the trick – just be sure to secure both a top and a bottom. Whether you shop in sets or prefer to mix-and-match, this is an area you can save big money on.

3. Accessories

One category that newbie skiers often forget about are all accessories. Rather than just a pair of sunnies, ski goggles are something I highly recommend. There are plenty of affordable pieces that offer great visibility. Additionally, don’t sleep on a beanie and water-resistant gloves to keep you extra warm. When I first started to ski, I resorted to Amazon for affordable ski gear.

4. Weatherproof Footwear

No ski look is complete without a pair of snow boots to seal the deal. You’ll thank me later when you find yourself in weatherproof shoes that keep your feet warm. From high-street padded shoes to rubber boots, there are several quality options that are easy on the wallet.

5. Ski Suit

Everyone needs a ski suit when hitting the slopes but if you only go sporadically, there’s no need to splurge. One of my hidden gems for ski suits between the $200-$300 price point is Topshop SNO or Asos. They always sell so fast though! You’ll want to add the below to cart before it’s too late.

6. Aprés Ski Picks

After a long day of skiing down the mountain, there’s no better feeling than to retire to a warm cabin or lodge. This is the time to shed all of the aforementioned gear and to finally throw on something warm and cozy. Dip into the aprés ski aesthetic with fair isle sweaters and knit leggings. All these pieces are sure to become a staple on or off the slopes.
