When I’m investing in staples, I always want to be sure that I have a broad selection of high-quality items to pick from since finding the best fit is key. My top pick goes to this Commando bodysuit – it’s just under $100 but well worth the price for a tee. The fabric lays smooth against the body, so it’s essentially invisible under everything. I love it as a base layer all winter long.
Gray Jeans
Gray denim is one of the most underrated basics on the market in my opinion. They’re dressier than blue jeans but more casual than trousers. I also like the fact that I can wear them to break up all-black pieces. Frame makes the best ones – the legs are slim but not super skinny and they’re so comfortable! After searching for the perfect pair, I can honestly say that Neiman Marcus has the best selection of premium gray jeans right now. This Agolde pair and this one by Citizens of Humanity were also strong contenders.
Light-Colored Combat Boots
Combat boots are getting plenty of action and attention these days. If you’re wanting to switch up the usual black or brown look, consider investing in a pair of white or ivory combat boots. They feel way more forward and polished than your typical pair. I’ve been using these Prada’s to revamp my fall and winter outfits. A cleaner design like these would even work with tailored pieces.
Wool & Cashmere Accessories
If you’ve ever wrapped yourself up in a scarf or a beanie but still felt cold, then it’s likely a result of the fabric.
