Summer Nighttime Skincare Routine.

I have been compensated for this post, but all opinions are my own.

I tend to switch up my skincare routine each season. The weather always has an impact on my skin so I feel like each season I need to incorporate something new. I recently started using the Elemis line from QVC and I have to say I’m in love. This line really focuses on the one thing I value in skincare…hydration. My skin is naturally on the oilier side so growing up I mistakenly thought that meant I didn’t need to put anything hydrating on my skin. I couldn’t figure out why cleansing and toning my skin still allowed me to get breakouts until I started a multi-step routine which included moisturizing – which I rarely did prior to that. It wasn’t until my dermatologist told me that my skin was overproducing oil to compensate for the lack thereof that I realized how important it was. While acne is a less of a concern for me as I get older, my top skin concern these days is aging and that can be addressed the same way – with added moisture. Skin needs to stay hydrated no matter what type of skin you have and no matter what season you’re in. In the winter skin tends to dry out so it’s more obvious that you need to add moisture back in, but in the summer the heat and humidity can trick you into thinking you don’t need any more moisture. Two major skin dehydrators in the summer you probably encounter every day – sun and air conditioning. Those two things alone can suck out a lot of moisture from your skin. That’s why the Elemis line is beneficial for me. It’s so moisturizing and the scents are amazing! The anti-aging focus of the line is super important to me too. I’ve been using the 24/7 Super Skin 3-Piece Collection. One of my favorite things about shopping on QVC is that you can find such detailed descriptions of each product including the on air presentations telling you all about the product. It makes shopping for beauty so much easier! They also have so many exclusive products and bundles too.

Here’s my current nighttime skin routine for summer:

Step 1: Cleanse. The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm by Elemis is incredibly moisturizing, but doesn’t feel too greasy. It wipes away makeup so easily and leaves my skin feel so soft. To use it, you first warm it up by rubbing it in the palms of your hands and then all over your face. I like to wet my fingertips to help it cover my skin easier. Then you wash it off with warm water and dry.

Step 2: Moisturize. The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is my favorite product in the collection. The floral smell is so luxurious and the cream is so soft. This cream is targeted for the AM while the Peptide cream oil in the next step can be used in place of this in the PM. Personally, I’ve been using a little bit of both in the evening because I just love this one so much.

Step 3: Hydrate with Oil. The Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream Oil is the final step to lock in moisture. Place two pumps of this between your fingertips and rub it all over your cleansed skin. If you are going to use this in addition the Marine Cream above (like I do) be sure to use this one after since oils can penetrate moisturizers. This cream oil absorbs really well so it doesn’t feel heavy.

Bonus: Exfoliate. The Gentle Rose Exfoliator is a great way to remove dead skin cells and makes my skin feel extra soft. I use it 1-2 times per week although it’s gentle enough to use every day. I tend to like to exfoliate only a couple times a week so I don’t remove all of my spray tan, but this exfoliator was gentler than most so it didn’t make my tan flake off.
