Last week I shared my Saint Laurent designer handbag collection (read that here) and this week I’m talking about my favorite designer heels in my wardrobe. I’m also back on YouTube sharing full video reviews – check out my review of my favorite designer heels here.

When it comes to investing in my wardrobe, handbags and shoes are where I focus. I wanted to share my favorite designer heels with you because they’re always a subject that I get a lot of questions on. A lot of you want to know how comfortable my heels are and which stores I recommend buying them from.

I try to always get the soles protected by my shoe cobbler and I try not to overwear any specific pair – although my nude Christian Louboutins are my most worn pair and they’re still in great condition years later.

I typically buy my heels from department stores – Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Saks are my favorites in the US and I often find better pricing on Harrods and Selfridges in the UK too – especially for Gianvito Rossi heels. I’ve even bought some of my designer heels off of eBay too. You can usually have good luck with popular styles like the Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pump or the Pigalle pump. I typically have the best luck if they’re a pair that I’ve already tried on or already own and I always search the brand, style and size – which helps narrow the search. I could honestly spend hours on eBay!

I typically try to wear suede only in the summer and fall though because snow and salt can really damage suede in the winter. For patent leather heels, Christian Louboutin is my first choice and for suede heels I tend to prefer Gianvito Rossi or Manolo Blahnik heels.

They’re a great neutral-colored statement heel and they’re sexy yet classy. Almost all of my Christian Louboutin heels in my closet are the So Kate style – which is now infamous because as popular as they are so many people say they hurt their feet. The truth is, the first time I tried on a pair of So Kates, I remember wondering how anyone could possibly wear them and thinking I’d never buy them. Fast forward a few years later and I ended up buying my first pair. I bought them right before a work trip in NYC so I broke them in walking the streets of NYC. I wore them from 6AM to past 10PM the first day I wore them. Needless to say that was a bad idea (aka bloody heels), but I did break them in and they’re one of my most comfortable pairs now.

I have bought several pairs of So Kate’s since then, but definitely did not break them in the same way. When I’m wearing them for the first time, I always try to wear them for a limited amount of time before they become too uncomfortable. Wearing them around the house is a good way to break them in too! They do tend to fit my better when it’s colder outside since I don’t swell up as much as on a hot, humid summer day. I will wear them out at night in the summer, but very rarely do I wear them during the day.

I love the PVC strap and tie up ankle – which adds a modern touch. They’re a very sleek and sexy heel that I get so much wear out of in the summer.
