When it comes to my haircare routine, I’m always up for trying out new brands and products, but inevitably, I find myself returning to the ones I’ve used for years. One brand that I grew up using is Pantene – which is why I’m so excited to be partnering with them for this post. Their new Charcoal Collection shampoo and conditioner is exactly what my hair needed to detox from all the products I’ve been using lately.
You’ve probably already heard about the benefits of incorporating charcoal products into your beauty routine. It has a unique ability to purify naturally – which is why I can’t get enough of it. I’ve been regularly using charcoal sponges to cleanse my face so when Pantene released this new Charcoal Collection, I had to try it!
To be honest, when Pantene approached me to try out their new Charcoal Collection, it was perfect timing because I’ve been desperately searching for a new haircare routine. Over the past few months, I’ve been trying to mix up the products that I use because the ones I was using previously just didn’t seem to be delivering the same results anymore.
While I’ve been so excited to try out new products, I have to confess I haven’t had a lot of success. I didn’t realize how easily products can weigh down my hair – especially when combined with the summer humidity. I’ve never been one to go too many days without washing my hair for this reason because my roots tend to go flat and the areas where I have bleach in my hair get frizzy.
I realized I wasn’t alone when Pantene shared that women who go three or more days without washing their hair (and use dry shampoos and styling products instead) can see their hair gaining up to 4% of its own weight in product buildup alone. No wonder why my hair goes flat! That’s a lot of extra weight pulling at your roots.
So if you use dry shampoo (who doesn’t?!) the best solution to protect your hair is to use a clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup. I don’t know about you, but when I hear the word ‘clarifying’ I always get a little nervous that my colored hair might fade quicker, but Pantene’s Charcoal Collection uses a blend of pro-vitamin B5, activated charcoal and antioxidants to not only purify, but restore your hair too. The activated charcoal ingredient acts as a magnet attracting impurities and removing the dirt and buildup in your hair, while releasing antioxidants to help hair look refreshed and clean.
After just my first time using Pantene’s Charcoal Collection, I noticed a big difference in my hair. It instantly felt lighter yet moisturized and voluminous yet tame. I can’t quite describe how different my hair felt. What I love most about the collection is that on the days that I don’t wash my hair, it’s still lightweight and manageable. Typically on days I don’t wash my hair, it’s really heavy and oily. With Pantene’s Charcoal Collection, it felt just as good as the day I washed it.
Pantene’s Charcoal Collection is also free of silicone, parabens and dyes while the activated charcoal ingredient cleanses your hair and scalp to remove dirt and impurities. If you have an oily scalp, it will also help to rebalance your hair.
I really can’t say enough good things about Pantene’s new Charcoal Collection. It’s one of the best haircare products that I’ve used in a long time. If you want to give your hair a detox, you have to try the collection. The Pantene Charcoal Collection will be available for purchase in mid-July.
