Although I don’t wear sneakers very often on my blog, I do wear them frequently while running my day-to-day errands. And seeing how they’ve become such a big trend this year, I wanted to round up my favorite sneakers for fall. Heels and boots will always remain wardrobe staples, but I must admit that my feet prefer the cushy soles of sneakers. They’re perfect for traveling in, especially when you’re visiting a new city that requires a ton of walking. I love that they’re no longer just a functional, athletic option, but also a fashionable one for everyday. With futuristic accents, chunky soles, and playful designs, adding sneakers to my outfits have become so natural. If you don’t regularly wear sneakers, it might seem daunting to find the perfect pair. However, with an abundance of styles to choose from, you’re bound to find a few you’ll love and wear. Scroll on for the sneakers on my wishlist.
Dad Sneakers
This season is all about the chunky dad sneaker. Although I haven’t embraced the trend just yet, I’m definitely looking forward to it this fall. It has been such a popular street style item for fashion week. It is a trickier style to pull off, but I think it looks cool and edgy with leather pants and a classic coat or with a long, flowy dress. If the thought of wearing chunky sneakers make you cringe, try one of the more wearable options below.
Minimalist Sneakers
Clean, minimal sneakers look great with everything from a structured pencil skirt to comfy jeans and a sweatshirt. Although I love the look of white sneakers, they can be tricky to keep clean. So, I swear by this pair from Golden Goose since they already look worn in and are so chic and comfy. They are on the pricier end, but there are more affordable and versatile options like this one.
Leopard Print Sneakers
You guys already know that leopard print is one of my absolute favorite trends this season. And I think a pair of leopard printed sneakers is the easiest way to get started on it. Whenever I’m wearing a lot of dark or neutral colors, this animal print always adds a bit of personality.
High Top Sneakers
When it comes to high top sneakers, I prefer to wear them with a leggier look. For instance, shirt dresses, maxi skirts, or denim cutoffs. Since I’m on the petite side, I feel that the high top style can oftentimes work against my height. They can also look unflattering depending on where they cut off. By pairing them with looks that show a little more leg, you can easily balance them out.
Metallic Sneakers
For sneakers with a hint of glamour, try a metallic or glittery pair. The reflective material elevates a casual look – and they surprisingly pair well with everything. From slip ons to lace ups, I love how they accessorize the most basic outfit like jeans and a t-shirt.
Retro Sneakers
With vintage trends being all the rage lately, it’s no surprise that throwback sneakers are suddenly relevant again. And since everyone knows when they see a retro sneaker, I prefer to pair them with more contemporary silhouettes such as a clean cut blazer or a monochromatic suit.
Trainers
While I love casual, fashion sneakers, I do feel that it’s important to have a pair of trusty athletic trainers for morning jogs or going to the gym. Many sneaker brands like Nike and Adidas are offering an array of bright colors and patterns that look great in the gym, but also pair well with everyday outfits.
