5 Fall Dress Trends Every Girl Needs

However, nothing gets me inspired to get dressed for the autumnal weather like a stylish dress. They’re just so easy to throw on with a pair of boots or even pumps – and they always look chic. Now that fall collections have started to hit stores, I wanted to share five of my favorite fall dress trends that I feel are absolutely essential for a stylish wardrobe. Many of my favorite pieces prioritize both comfort and style so you can look and feel good no matter where you’re headed. Keep scrolling for my fall dress picks!

1. Sweater Dress

If there’s only one dress that I find absolutely essential for fall, it’s got to be the sweater dress. Although I own so many variations already, I never hesitate to add a few new styles every fall and winter season. I love a slouchy, oversized fit, which is easily balanced out with sleek, tall boots and a cozy jacket. You just can’t go wrong with this outfit combo.

2. Ribbed Midi Dress

Another dress trend that I’m not ready to retire just yet is ribbed midi dresses. Over the summer, they took the form of halter necklines and sleeveless tank tops. Fortunately, you can transition this piece to fall with the right outerwear or a chunky knit layered on top. You can also just opt for a fall version with puffed shoulders, long sleeves, or a higher neckline.

3. Sweatshirt Dress

Sweatshirt dresses are ideal for days when you want to be casual and comfy. You can style them with tall boots for a cool, going-out look, but I find that they’re just as chic with edgy combat boots or even sneakers. I’m a fan of both hooded and non-hooded sweatshirt dresses.

4. Animal Print Dress

Animal print has been going strong for quite a few seasons now, and it’ll continue through this year. You can expect to see anything from leopard to snakeskin to tiger stripes and more on dresses. My favorite thing about wearing an animal print dress is that it’s statement-making on its own and looks insanely chic with the most simple accessories like classic pumps or a black handbag.

5. Bodycon Dress

Bodycon dresses are back and I’m seriously loving the alluring, sexy style. The beauty of bodycon dresses is that they’re suitable for most occasions. A midi length works well for the office, especially with a blazer layered on top. You can also rock a bodycon mini dress to any upcoming fall weddings, date nights, or special occasions. I also find that that this silhouette is most flattering on us petite girls, so I’m definitely excited for it.
