My Travel Skincare Routine

fashion blogger mia mia mine la merA travel skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy and radiant skin while on the go. I’m a big believer in caring for your skin to keep it looking and feeling its best whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure. One of the most important things to consider when traveling is hydration. The dry air in airplanes and hotel rooms can dehydrate your skin, so it’s important to pack a moisturizer that will keep your skin hydrated. Cleaning your skin is also crucial while traveling, especially if you’re in a different climate from your home. I’ve gone through countless product through the years and wanted to share the ones that I consistently rely on when I’m away.

Like most girls, I’m a fan of double cleansing at the end of the day. The Elemis Cleansing Balm is the first product I use to rid y face of makeup and other elements that I may have absorbed throughout the day. Doubling down on cleansing ensures my face is as clean as possible before applying my evening skincare product. I love how easy it is to use – just massage a pea-sized amount onto your skin and let it work its magic.

For my second cleanse, I swear by the Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser (use my code: MIA25 for 25% off). The unique formula is enriched with nourishing ingredients, such as glycerin and squalane, which helps to hydrate the skin and leaves it clean and refreshed. It’s suitable for all skin types and is gentle enough for daily use.

Another Kiehls favorite is the Ultra Facial Cream (use my code: MIA25 for 25% off). I love the non-greasy formula, which is great for everyday use, especially for those with oily skin as it does not leave any residue. The facial cream also contains squalane and glacial glycoprotein to hydrate and nourish the skin. I’ll typically apply this during the day before makeup.

It’s also important to pack a sunscreen, as the sun’s UV rays can cause damage to your skin even on overcast days. Experts recommend going with a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 to protect your skin from harmful rays. My favorite is the Colleen Rothschild Triple Defense Sunscreen SPF 40 as it also shields your skin from blue light.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I love this By Terry serum. I use it in the morning before applying moisturizer. It works as a color corrector that instantly brightens and even out your skin. This product comes in a variety of finishes, but Sunny Flash (04) is my favorite for achieving that sun-kissed, goddess glow.

My go-to nighttime serum is the CE Ferulic Acid by SkinCeuticals. This serum contains a powerful combination of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Ferulic acid, which work together to provide superior antioxidant protection, brighten the skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The hype around it is so real – with continued use, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin texture and tone.

For my night cream, I’m a huge fan of the Cream de La Mer. I use it after applying serum because it’s super rich and moisturizing. It’s definitely pricey but a little goes a long way so a jar will last you a while.

Traveling can cause your skin to become dull and dry, especially in the winter. So, I typically add an oil to my routine to increase hydration. Oils are able to penetrate deeper into the skin than traditional moisturizers, which can help keep the skin plump for longer periods of time. This one is my favorite as it’s rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that protect the skin from environmental stressors.

This product relates more to body care, but I use it all the time and wanted to feature it today. It’s the perfect solution for anyone looking for a natural and effective way to stay fresh and odor-free. Not only is it free of harsh chemicals and aluminum, but it’s also infused with a unique blend of essential oils that leave you smelling amazing all day long.
