I’m such a neutral wardrobe type of person, that I really only play with pops of color when they’re really on trend. Of course there are bold colors that I don’t shy way from, like the color red – it’s my go-to color when I want to make a statement. But what about all the other colors of the spectrum? I don’t feel like I can get away with anything, but every now and then I like to mix it up and give a new color a try. Right now I’ve been seeing a lot of sapphire blue popping up. It’s my birthstone color so I’ve always had an affinity toward it. It is a trendy color so it flows in and out of trend each year. Right now I’m loving it. Ever since I bought these suede heels last spring, I’ve been loving experimenting with a pop of bold blue. When I saw this cut out top, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I paired it with my favorite heels to tie it together. I’m not a matchy-matchy type of person, but repetition always makes things feel more pulled together. I kept everything else simple and understated to really make the blue pop. I love the cutout neckline of this top – which adds a sexy touch and makes it feel less playful and more grownup. For me, bold colors can feel too young or girly so a sexy silhouette will always make it feel more age appropriate. I love the bell sleeves too which add a vintage vibe.
