Mixing black and brown used to be a fashion faux pas, but if done the right way, it can be a really striking combination. The key to mixing such contrasting colors is to vary textures and hues. I love to use black as a foundation and wear a bright brown like cognac. This skirt is one of my favorite summer items (it’s now sold out, but I’m linking to similar ones bel0w). For this outfit, I took a cue from this Sorial bag which pairs a black leather shoulder strap with a cognac suede satchel. The suede of the bag and the skirt aren’t the perfect match, but the bag brings in my favorite espadrilles which are also a shade darker.
I’m sure you’ve been seeing a lot of fall fashion out there and I feel like I go between summer and fall every other day lately. It’s still super hot out, but I’m just dying to wearing fall stuff. There’s so many cute fall items that I know will sell out so I’ve been scooping them up! Check out my Shop to see of the items I’ve been buying.
