My style is pretty low-key and casual. I live in easy basics – almost daily. In the summer I love easy pieces that I can mix and match that are practical, but look chic too. There are a few essentials that I always have on hand. No matter the season and I always keep these three things in my closet.
Sneakers
I’m definitely more of a heel girl in general, but sneakers are often the most practical choice especially for running around errands around town or when I’m traveling. I recently found these leopard sneakers and I couldn’t pass them up. I actually scored them on Amazon Prime Day (sorry if you missed out), but they are still a great deal at under $150. The red laces make them a stand out – it really gives them that street style edge.
Statement Bag
It goes without saying, but a bag can really make your outfit. I’ve had this red Celine in my closet for quite a while. I don’t wear it every day, but I do bring it out every now and then when I’m feeling like keeping everything else basic. I love that it’s a statement color, but it’s also a very practical bag. It holds a ton of things so it makes for a great travel bag. I brought it with to Chicago this past weekend and I can’t tell you how great it was for carrying everything around town.
Leather Jacket
Most people have a leather jacket in their closet, but I think sometimes you forget that you can wear them year round. I always have a leather jacket on hand when I go out because even during the summer, evenings can get chilly. I recently found this leather jacket at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It was probably my favorite purchase from the sale. In case you missed my picks you can find them here. Unfortunately, there’s only a few sizes left, but they do restock key items throughout the sale and the sale goes through August 6th so there is a chance you could still score it if you love it as much as I do. At under $75, you really can’t pass it up. There’s a super similar one included in the sale here. The gold hardware is what sold me immediately. I have been searching for a jacket with gold hardware ever since I spotted a woman in Napa wearing one this past summer. She was so chic, I just had to stop and stare. I love finding inspiration everywhere.
