7 Favorite Fall Date Ideas

Fall is my favorite time of year for so many reasons, but more than anything I love getting outside and spending quality time with my little family. Phil and I love doing anything outdoors because it’s such a beautiful time of year with all of the leaves changing color and the temperature outside is perfect. We also love that we can bring Luna almost anywhere that’s outdoors. She loves getting out and meeting new people and it’s always fun to see how people interact with her. She loves hugs! Here are 7 of our favorite fall dates that we do every year.
Spend The Afternoon At An Apple Orchard
We’ve already been to an apple orchard several times this season. It’s just such a great way to spend a sunny afternoon. We love drinking cider (or wine) and eating all the fall treats like apple donuts and apple brats. We take Luna every time and she loves meeting all the dogs and people. It’s fun to walk through the orchard, I just love being surrounded by all the trees – it’s so magical.
Pick Out Pumpkins At A Pumpkin Patch
There’s nothing more festive than a pumpkin patch. Searching for the perfect one and adding in all the extra fall decor items, is so fun. We always go to pick out decor for our front doorstep and this year we went a little crazy with hay bales, pumpkins, squash and lanterns. I love it though! Check out our pumpkin patch pics here.
Check Out A Haunted House
For those of you that love Halloween as much as my husband, a haunted house is a must (although I think he gets more scared than me). I actually really enjoy the thrill of a good haunted house. As a child, my favorite bedtime story that my dad told me was about when he went through a haunted house as a kid. Pretty weird bedtime story, but ever since then I’ve always been fascinated with them.
Have Brunch At A Cozy Cafe
For me the perfect weekend involves brunch at a cozy cafe. There’s one Parisian-inspired cafe that’s our favorite here in St. Paul (Meritage). We love getting coffee and having breakfast sitting in the windows – it just feels so cozy.
Take A Drive Through The Country
If you live in a place with changing leaves, this is one of the best ways to appreciate all of the colors. I can’t get over how beautiful it is here. Our neighborhood is lined with trees – you can’t even see the houses! Right now the trees are in their prime – changing from green to orange, yellow and red – my favorite.
Go Antique Shopping
This is kind of random, but Phil and I love going to antique stores in the fall and winter because they have so many cute holiday decor items. It’s always a treasure hunt to see who can find the best pieces for our home. I always win. 🙂
Get Cozy By The Fire
Whether it’s an outdoor fire pit at your favorite restaurant, in your backyard or even in your living room – sitting by a fire will give you all the cozy fall feels. We’ve already had our fireplace going a few times this year and we love burning our favorite fall candle to fill our home with fall. We also have a favorite restaurant that has outdoor fire pits that you can sit around for dinner. It’s SO cozy.
