It’s hard to believe 2018 is just days away! New Year’s Eve is the holiday to pull out all the stops and close the year out with a bang. There’s no such thing as being over dressed on NYE – so make a statement! I love getting dressed up, but the older I get the fewer occasions there are to dress up. It’s usually 50/50 if Phil will have a gig on New Year’s, but if he doesn’t, we usually try to do something special with friends. In our early-20’s we loved going to our city’s NYE bashes or renting spaces and throwing our own. These days we prefer to keep it cozier with a smaller group of friends or even just the two of us. We were able to get dressed up for a holiday bash a little early this year – one of our friends threw an amazing holiday party right before Christmas so we went all out glam for their semi-formal affair. We always coordinate outfits and this year we went with shades of blue. This feather jacket is one of my favorite statement jackets for the season. I paired it with this velvet dress in the perfect shade of sapphire blue – a favorite of mine. Phil has an unlimited supply of suits since he usually wears one to perform so I know I can wear anything and he’ll find a way to coordinate. This year for New Year’s Eve, Phil has a gig earlier in the night and then we’ll head to my best friend’s house for a little get-together. I can’t wait to ring in the new year!
