What I Wore For Day 1 of NYFW

fashion blogger mia mia mine wearing a blazer dress from revolve in nyc for new york fashion week nyfw Day one of New York Fashion Week is always my favorite. We usually come right away at the beginning of NYFW for a few days because I love all of the excitement around the kickoff of the week. The weather was colder and cloudier than we’d hoped, but we made the best of it – and it’s still better than back home in MN – where it’s freezing! Packing for NYFW is the thing that I dread most about the week. With fashion being the focus of the week, there’s definitely pressure to pick out the perfect outfit, but I always want to stay true to my core style too. I typically rely on accessories to really elevate an outfit and usually stick with neutral color palettes.

This season it’s all about the cat-eye style for sunglasses. This was my backup (more affordable) option if I couldn’t find these. I ended up finding these at Solstice the day before we left for NYC and they were on sale! They’re only available in store though.

I love that it’s sexy, yet classic and it comes in a wide variety of sizes so I didn’t even get it tailored (rare for dresses for me). A great blazer dress is one of the most versatile pieces you can add to your wardrobe. I’m still on the hunt for a great black version.

This pair is old from Kendall + Kylie (and they’re now sold out), but if you saw my Instasories, you may have seen this amazing pair that I got from Revolve. They’re extra long so they were too high to pair with this dress (I always like to show a little thigh when wearing a dress x over-the-knee boots combo), but I plan on wearing them with a shorter dress or over jeans instead.
