We all know the old fashion rule “no white before Memorial Day” and while most of us have ditched that rule, admittedly, it can still be tough to know exactly how to wear an all-white outfit that doesn’t look like summer attire. Today I wanted to share three easy ways to style head-to-toe white – from casual to dressy and in between. You can’t go wrong with a white outfit this time of year, but adding in layers for interest and playing with classic spring silhouettes is really the key to making white look spring-appropriate.
Outfit Details: Badgley Mischka Beige Trench Coat (wearing an XS in ‘Fog’ color, on sale now!) // Club Monaco White Crop Top (wearing an XS) // Parker Smith White Jeans (budget version here) // Christian Louboutin So Kate Nude Pumps (budget version here) // Quay x Desi Aviator Sunglasses // Saint Laurent Sunset Cross-Body Bag (more colors here)
Dressy Casual: Play With Proportions
My main secret for making an all-white outfit look more interesting is to vary the proportions of the pieces you’re wearing. I bought this crop top a few months ago and I’ve been getting so much wear out of it. I love it paired with higher-waisted white jeans and I almost always throw a neutral-colored trench over a monochromatic outfit. This one is my favorite for spring and it’s under $150.
Outfit Details: Similar Leather Jacket // H&M White Hoodie (also love this one – comes in more colors) // Parker Smith White Jeans (wearing a 00, also love this similar style) // Quay Aviator Sunglasses // Saint Laurent Large College Bag (grey color sold out, also love this size) // Golden Goose Sneakers
Casual: Throw On A Moto Jacket
An all-white outfit can work for casual days too. I just add a leather jacket to toughen it up and add a laid-back feel to my outfit. This leather jacket is my most-worn piece in my wardrobe. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, but I recently ordered this faux leather one and it’s almost an exact replica for just over $100.
Dressy: Opt For Longer Lengths
Midi dresses were made for spring. They are the perfect length for spring weather – before it gets too warm. I wore this eyelet one last year and it’s now sold out, but I have my eye on this gorgeous one. White dresses are the most worn dresses in my wardrobe. I just love how chic and romantic they look.
