How To Make Camo Look Chic

Camo is one of the few prints that I love. Being petite, bold prints can easily overwhelm my frame, but camo is such a subtle print that anyone can pull it off. The masculine print gives an effortless and edgy vibe to any outfit. Most of my daily outfits incorporate a masculine touch – which helps balance out more feminine pieces. For me, that’s the key to mastering that effortless street style look. Here are my tricks to making camo look chic.

Pair It With Statement Accessories

If I’m wearing a casual print like camo, I’ll add in statement accessories with bold hardware to really elevate the look of my outfit. I paired this jacket with my Gucci belt – which always dresses up an outfit. This belt is one of the best designer investments I made last year because I get so much wear out of it. It recently got restocked in most sizes here – which is where I bought mine. If you’re considering getting one, be sure to first read my Guide to Buying a Gucci Belt here.

Stick With A Monochromatic Color Palette

When I wear prints of any kind, I like to keep everything else simple – which usually means a monochromatic color palette. I paired this jacket with my favorite black denim (under $50) and black accessories.

Go For A Classic Silhouette

I bought this camo jacket last fall and it’s still in stock (see how else I wore it here). I tend to buy classic silhouettes whenever possible because I know I’ll keep them in my closet for a while and they’re typically the most versatile. With a bold print like camo, it’s smart to go for classic silhouettes that are more understated so the print will stand out on it’s own.
