Today I’m sharing a recap of our trip to Disney World last week and all about our stay at one of our new favorite hotels. We decided kind of last minute to book a family trip to Disney World. My older sister has two young kids and my mom wanted them to experience Disney World and we all love Disney so we decided to make it a big family trip and tag along. We chose to stay at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando because it’s a Disney World resort so you get all the perks from that, but it’s also a resort with so many amenities so you never have to leave. Since it was kind of a last minute trip, Phil and I both had a number of deadlines that occurred during the trip so we planned to work while we were there, but also wanted to be able to relax in our downtime too.

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando has some of the best restaurants in Orlando, multiple pools, a lazy river, a waterslide, a golf course and so much more. Although it’s a kid-friendly hotel, it also caters to adults with an amazing spa, bars and views of Disney World fireworks. We’ve stayed at a number of Four Seasons, but this was definitely one of my favorites. Here’s why we loved the Four Seasons Resort Orlando and why we plan to head back again soon.

1. It’s the Only Luxury Disney Resort

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando is a Disney resort so you get all the perks of staying at a Disney resort including Extra Magic Hours (additional hours at Disney parks), access to Fast Pass+ (where you can book your Fast Passes up to 60 days in advance) and the Four Seasons has its own dedicated Disney concierge desk to assist you with booking anything and everything.

2. There’s a Character Breakfast On-Site

One of the most memorable experiences from our Disney trip was the Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy & His Pals at the Four Seasons restaurant Ravello. My niece and nephew are ages five and two so they were the perfect ages to really enjoy this experience. It was so precious to see my little nephew try to feed Mickey and my niece kiss him. I was honestly on the verge of tears to see how happy they were. My younger sister just kept saying “aw it’s so special for them” and it really was. The characters were all so sweet and patiently took as many photos as we wanted. We did the breakfast a couple of days before we went to Magic Kingdom – which was a great way to kick off the trip.

3. It’s Kid-Friendly

Although we don’t have kids yet we can appreciate how special the hotel makes the experience for kids. Every kid we saw there was so happy! Upon check-in there were mini robes with dress-up pieces for the kids. My nephew got a pirate eye patch, hat and sword and my niece got a tutu, crown and a magic wand. They had so much fun playing with them right away and my niece wore her tutu again the next day to Animal Kingdom. The kids were most excited about the pools, water slides and lazy river. The hotel even had movies by the pool for the kids.

4. It’s Adult-Friendly Too

As much as we love spending time with our family, we still wanted to experience a few things on our own. Between the adult pool, restaurants and the spa – there was always an opportunity to escape. The Four Seasons has a complimentary Kids For All Seasons program which is essentially a day camp for kids which is nice if parents want a little break. The hotel overall was incredibly quiet, peaceful and people were all so kind and friendly. Who could be in a bad mood at the happiest place on earth?

5. They Have Amazing Restaurants

Probably the most memorable night for Phil and me on our own was the night that we had dinner at the Four Seasons rooftop restaurant, Capa. It’s a Spanish steakhouse with an amazing selection of tapas, steaks and drinks. A lot of the food is from the Basque region in Spain – which is actually where a lot of my family heritage is from so it was extra special for me to try dishes native to that region. We had a super knowledgeable Sommelier that recommended wine pairings for every course – which was a fun addition to our meal. While the food was some of the best we’ve ever had, the night was even more memorable because we were able to watch the fireworks from the Disney parks on the rooftop terrace. It rained the evening that we went to dinner, but the fireworks still went on. Our server made sure to time our dishes perfectly for us to be able to enjoy the 20-minute fireworks show without our food getting cold on the table.

6. You Can Watch The Fireworks From Your Room

We had a room with a patio facing the Disney parks so we were able to watch the fireworks every night from our hotel room. Unfortunately, there were a lot of tropical storms while were in Orlando so it rained most days, but luckily the fireworks still went on every night! We actually got in a couple days later than my family and on the day we got in, my family had spent the day at Epcot. I called my mom that night and asked her if she was enjoying the Epcot fireworks show and she said they were indoors taking cover from the rain. Meanwhile we were back at the hotel enjoying champagne on our terrace and watching the fireworks.

7. They Make Getting to Disney So Easy

We didn’t rent a car while we were in Florida because we knew that we would be spending most of the time at the hotel or the Disney parks. The Four Seasons makes it super easy with shuttle service to all of the parks and they also offer a special Minnie Van service – a Minnie Mouse-themed van through the Lyft app that will take you to any of the Disney parks and resorts. We didn’t get a chance to take it which I kind of regret but the kids were able to see it parked in front of the hotel which they loved. Each morning that we went to the parks we just hopped on the shuttle and got there within minutes. The shuttles pull right up to the park gates so there’s really no waiting around.

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando currently has a Stay Longer – Fourth Night Free package where if you stay three nights, you’ll get the fourth night free. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Phil and I had such a great time at the hotel, we can’t wait to go back and make it a tradition especially once we have kids of our own.

xo, Maria
