The Summer Dress You Can Wear Anywhere

If there’s one dress that I could wear all summer long, it’d be a shirt dress. The classic, feminine style looks great dressed up or down and the flowing silhouette is the perfect style for the beach. I love utility shirt dresses or crisp clean button-down versions – especially to wear as a cover-up at the beach. There are so many affordable styles that you really don’t have to spend a lot to wear this trend. I was shocked to find this sleek shirt dress at Forever 21. Every season I try to mix in a few trendier pieces from fast fashion retailers like Forever 21 and H&M, but I don’t often expect to find dresses in fabrics that appeal to me. This shirt dress is so lightweight and airy that it looks way more expensive than it is. I love the maxi length – which really makes this dress work for day or night. I tend to steer away from maxi lengths in general since I’m so petite, but if they have a slit (or buttons that can be undone) to show some leg, they instantly become more flattering.
