It’s been so warm here lately that I’ve been living in shorts. In the summer months, denim cut-offs always replace my everyday ripped jeans. Trading out my jeans for shorts is one of the easiest ways to transition my wardrobe – basics and statement tops easily pair with either option. If you read my post last week all about where I splurge versus save on my summer wardrobe (find that here), you probably saw that denim shorts are where I typically save on my summer wardrobe. There are so many great affordable brands (Levi’s is a favorite) that you really don’t need to splurge – unless you want those perfectly placed distressed details – those are usually hand done so they’re more expensive. For me, I go between the two. I don’t always wear super distressed shorts just because they can be too revealing for everyday wear. Instead, I tend to favor shorts with slight distressing. I just got these white Levi’s shorts and I love the fit. They’re not too tight, but still flattering. I always buy at least one white pair of shorts for summer. They go with everything and are a great way to mix it up from regular blue denim.

These shorts by Frame are definitely on the pricier side and they’re super similar to the Levi’s ones. I will say they are more comfortable though. The denim has more give so I could wear them all day while the Levi’s ones are a little stiffer. This exact pair is sold out, but this is the updated version.

I always keep a pair of black denim shorts in my summer wardrobe. They look great with white tops (my favorite kind) and they can easily be dressed up with heels or down with flats. This pair is also by Frame and a little pricier than most of my pairs, but they are super comfortable and I love the high-rise fit.

I got this pair last year and they’re still a favorite. I love the distressed detail and they’re super soft. They are a little pricier, but totally worth it, in my opinion.
