New York Fashion Week is always an exciting time to get a grasp on the latest trends. While I always love watching what comes down the runways, the street style trends that emerge during fashion week are always a source of inspiration too – especially when it comes to pulling together everyday outfits. This season, there are a lot of wearable trends that easily transitioned from the runways to the streets. From animal prints to heritage logos to power suiting – there are so many NYFW trends that I’m excited to incorporate into my wardrobe this fall.
A number of the hottest trends this season are 1970’s throwbacks with animal prints, the Western theme, suiting and slouchy boots leading the charge. You’ve probably already been seeing these trends pop up on your feed coming out of NYFW. With how easy Instagram makes it to find and source the latest NYFW trends, most of the hot pieces sell out super fast. For those hard to get or designer items, one of my favorite places to shop is eBay. I tend to shop eBay for designer items mostly, but I’ll shop there for fast fashion pieces that sold out before I could get my hands on them too. Here are some of my favorite NYFW trends to score on eBay right now.
It’s no secret animal prints are everywhere this season. Luckily this is a trend that, while bold, still looks great on everyone. If rocking head-to-toe animal print feels a little too costumey for you, you can easily incorporate the NYFW trend into your look by selecting animal print footwear, handbags or accessories. Since I’m petite, leopard as an allover print can overwhelm my frame so I’m opting for a more subtle play on the trend. I’ve always been a fan of leopard heels. I love how easily a pair of leopard heels can make a look pop.
I have an obsession with blazers because they easily make an outfit feel pulled together and chic. This season’s power suit trend calls for statement silhouettes – think boxy shoulders, oversized fits and bold colors or textures. If you’re petite like me, sticking with a monochromatic color palette is the most flattering and elongating way to wear the trend. You can’t go wrong with all black no matter what setting you’re in. One of the easiest ways to take the trend from day to night is to pair a blazer with leather pants or a skirt for a modern touch.
Heritage designer bags are making a comeback. From Gucci to Fendi to Chanel – the classics are back! I’ve talked quite a bit about how I try to shop preowned versions of designer pieces as much as I can and eBay always has one of the best selections of my favorite brands through their Authenticate Program like Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
A lot of you have messaged me asking how to ensure authenticity when purchasing preowned designer pieces. I’ll be honest, it’s always been a concern of mine too so in the past I’ve relied on third party authenticators, but now eBay offers a whole selection of already authenticated luxury bags – which makes shopping easier and more reliable.
My favorite bag in my designer collection will always be my Chanel bag (which Phil bought me as a wedding present). He bought mine from a luxury pre-owned reseller years ago when there were only a few major retailers offering this service, but now that eBay authenticates, I’ve realized Phil overpaid for my bag! My exact bag is available for a fraction of what I paid for it!
