Our Bathroom & Laundry Room Makeovers

Today I’m continuing my home makeover series and sharing the remodels of our powder bathroom, lower level bathroom and laundry room. We decided to tackle all of these areas at once since they’re relatively small spaces and we knew easy updates would make a big impact. For these rooms, we used tile from our favorite tile source, The Builder Depot again. We had such great experiences with using their tile in our master bathroom and guest bathroom that we knew we had to use them again. They also have the best prices that we can find on real marble and they have the best selection!
The Powder Bathroom
Our powder bathroom has been through a couple of iterations of makeovers since we moved in, but it never felt completely done until we finally decided to remove the old tile floor and start over. I’m amazed at how much tile can transform a room. We decided to do a marble inlay pattern with a gray border on the floor and I love the way it really frames in the space. We used 4×12 Carrara Bianco marble tiles around the border, Bardiglio gray marble tile for the trim and the prettiest Dogbone Basketweave marble tile for the inlay. I love how it turned out. We painted the room in a deep, moody gray (Sherwin Williams ‘Wall Street’) and went with a bold wallpaper for the back wall. The RH mirrored vanity and starburst chandelier add a whimsical feel. The Lower Level Bathroom
For the lower bathroom, we also went with a Dogbone Basketweave marble tile, but in black this time. We loved the classic feel of it and paired it with affordable white subway tile for the shower. This bathroom is primarily used for bathing our dogs so we wanted to make sure it was easy to keep clean. The subway tile doesn’t stain or scratch and it’s held up really nicely with the dogs. We swapped our old pedestal sink out for a light gray vanity from Lowe’s (similar here) and added a Venetian mirror from Wayfair for a timeless feel. Since this is technically the guest bathroom in the lower level, we wanted it to feel stately yet practical.

The Laundry Room
Our laundry room is on the smaller side and it felt dark and outdated when we moved in. We knew we wanted to maximize light so we had the cabinetry painted a bright white (Sherwin Williams ‘Pure White’) and went with a pale gray color on the walls (Sherwin Williams ‘Balboa Mist’). For the tile, we chose a fun Spanish cement tile from The Builder Depot. I love how it adds interest to the space without overwhelming it. This tile is also a great price at under $10!
