The Best Accessories To Add To Your Fall Wardrobe

And while the right coat can really elevate your outfit, there are a few more things worth investing in that can transform your wardrobe – fall accessories. Fall fashion is all about layering so mixing in key accessories is crucial to having a versatile and stylish closet. Plus, the right accessories can instantly dress up your look and make a bundled outfit appear more expensive. With several more months to go of brutally cold temperatures, accessories are key to keeping your cold weather wardrobe updated – and on point. Below, I’ve rounded up the best accessories for fall.

Scarves

Scarves are my favorite way to spruce up a blazer or a jacket. They’re great for adding an extra color or print to your outfit – or just to keep your neck warm and protected. I also love faux fur stoles, which look so elegant when paired with evening dresses throughout the holidays. There are so many affordable styles like this one that is luxe and soft to the touch.

Ponchos or Capes

Ponchos and capes are such great statement pieces. Many of them are constructed of luxurious yet cozy fabrics, which make them an ideal transitional piece that can be worn as a light cover-up. They’re so easy to shop for since most only come in one size.

Hats

A fall and winter essential I rely on to complete any outfit is a hat. Pom pom beanies are my go-to for a cute and chic option, but I reach for wide brim fedoras when I want to look more tailored. For more on my favorite hats, check out this post here.

Cozy Socks

Socks aren’t just made to wear with shoes. There are so many cozy styles that look cute peeking out from knee high boots or paired over leggings. As soon as it gets colder, I love wearing them around the house with an oversized sweater.

Updated Handbag

While I’ll always love my staple designer bags, I’ve been obsessed with several bag trends this season. Mini bags and croc embossed styles top my favorites list since the sophisticated style makes whatever I’m wearing look more expensive. However, clear PVC and shearling handbags are trendy contenders that look great with casual and weekend wear.

Hiking Boots

Although lug soled hiking boots don’t seem like a shoe style I would often wear, they’re actually super practical for the winter months in Minnesota. With jeans and a sherpa jacket, they’re super cute too. Whenever I’m looking for a comfortable shoe option that’s weatherproof and will keep my feet warm, shearling lined hiking boots are my go-to.

Sunglasses

It’s no secret that I wear sunglasses year round, but I have especially been obsessed with strong rectangular shapes and aviator styles. I love how the slightly oversized lenses inject a little glamour and mystery into any outfit.

Gloves

Gloves are a signature accessory for the fall and winter seasons. It always amazes me how this understated piece can elevate your entire look especially if you go with a leather pair or cashmere lined style.
