Valentine’s Date Night Outfit Ideas

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what to wear for that special date night! One of the most common questions I get during this time of year is regarding date night outfits – more specifically, what to wear when it’s frigid cold outside. There are so many factors to consider when shopping for the perfect outfit to wear on this occasion from the dress code down to what you’ll be doing after dinner. The most important thing is to wear something that you feel comfortable in but is also warm. Whether you’re headed to a romantic dinner, staying in and cooking, or hanging out with friends, my Valentine’s date night outfit ideas below will ensure you’re celebrating in style.
Red Dress or Jumpsuit
Nothing says Valentine’s Day quite like the color red. While there are tons of gorgeous, floor-grazing dresses available, I’ve been obsessed with jumpsuits. I love how jumpsuits can pass for something formal yet is also super practical in the cold. They match up so well with a variety of coats.
Floral Dress
It might be winter, but a floral dress works year-round especially in darker colors. I always look for unique necklines and hemlines to break up the print. Anything with plunging necklines or slits works wonders for a romantic date night.
Pink!
I sometimes like to mix up my outfits by wearing something a little more fun for a night out on the town. So if you’re looking for a different color to wear, try pink! A statement top with ruffled sleeves or satin blouse are great pieces to pair with jeans and a blazer. This always results in an outfit that’s as sleek as it is flirty. I still love this dress that I wore in Hawaii last year. It’s back in stock (under $100) and the perfect shade of pink!
Pop Of Red
Red is such a strong color and can be intimidating to pull off. The simplest way to incorporate Valentine’s Day into your attire is with a pop of red. I love adding red accessories like a handbag or a clutch to make a statement. It’s always a head turner even in small doses.
Lace Dress
If you’re opting out of the classic reds and pinks, a black lace dress is just as romantic. You can always accessorize it with red accessories for an unexpected twist.
Overlay Dress
Overlay dresses are so fitting for winter because it gives the effect of a mini dress without the full commitment. I’m personally a big fan of overlay dresses because of the playful hemline and embroidered details that look so feminine.
