Stylish Alternatives to High Heels When Comfort is Key

As much as I love wearing high heels during spring and summer, there are times when I just have to give my feet a break. Between exploring new cities and just getting out more, it’s just not realistic to be in heels 24/7. I’ve always felt that finding a great pair of shoes that’s equally stylish and comfy is an impossible task. But it turns out that flats can put a chic touch on any look – even a going-out or vacation outfit. If you’re ready to slip into something more comfortable this season, here are the stylish alternatives to high heels that can take you from day to night.
Espadrilles
I rarely splurge on summer shoes, but when I do, it’s usually a pair of high-quality espadrilles. My Chloe and Chanel espadrilles are my favorites – and they come into heavy rotation as soon as temperatures rise. I can’t wait to bring them out again! If you’re on the hunt for more affordable styles that are also super cute, I’m a fan of Castañer, Sam Edelman, and Soludos.
Lace Up Sandals
Through the years, I continue to be obsessed with lace-up sandals. They’re typically more practical later in the spring when the temperatures become more predictable. They’re such a flattering and fun way to dress up any outfit. I love neutral-colored lace-ups because they look stunning with printed dresses and denim cut offs.
Flat Mules
If you’re looking for a more polished footwear option, then you can’t go wrong with pointed mules. They’re refined, clean, and can even be made appropriate for the office. You can pair them with a midi dress as well as jeans and a leather jacket.
Slide Sandals
The best thing about slide sandals is that I never need to pack an extra pair of shoes. They’re cute and stylish enough to wear for hours on end. If I’m going on vacation or hanging out by the pool, slide sandals are definitely my go-to!
Sneakers
When comfort is my top priority, then I don’t hesitate to reach for sneakers. Fortunately, pairing sneakers with dresses is no longer a fashion faux pas – and I’m loving the mix of feminine and sporty vibes. You guys know how much I swear by my Golden Goose sneakers, but any clean style makes a perfect easy, everyday flat.
Block or Kitten Heels
If you really can’t give up the feminine, sexy look of heels, there’s always low block heel sandals and kitten heels! They’re just more realistic and comfortable for walking given their sensible heel height. These Chanel slingbacks are one of my favorite styles!
