How to Make Denim Feel Fresh for Spring

No matter what time of year it is, denim never really disappears from my wardrobe. However, I do find myself looking for ways to retire those hearty winter outfits and make denim feel fresh for spring. Since it is such an essential part of my closet, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut wearing the same outfit combinations again and again. Fortunately, you never have to get too crazy in terms of styling since denim has such a timeless aesthetic. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with different denim combos as the weather warms up. So today, I wanted to share 5 different ways you can make this closet staple feel fresh.

Colored & Printed Denim
To start out with, one of the easiest ways to ensure your denim looks are fresh and updated, is to simply swap your classic blue washes for something a lot lighter. I have an obsession with stark white jeans since it lends a sharper touch to my outfits in the spring. Plus, white jeans are magical and look good with practically anything. Throw on a contrasting top to make a statement or consider doing a head-to-toe monochromatic look to really make your outfit pop. Besides white, colored and printed jeans are also trending this season – and they’re as versatile as your blue jeans!

Pair with a Spring Top
Ultra feminine and romantic blouses continue to trend . Thankfully, these tops look so dreamy when paired with your favorite jeans. Blouses with puffy sleeves, peasant necklines, dainty ruffles, and bows look so good when styled with something more casual like denim. The two always to balance each other out, creating an effortless and feminine springtime look.

Oversized Denim Jacket
Denim jackets aren’t new by any means, but you can always update your looks by finding an updated silhouette. This spring, you will catch me wearing my new denim jacket in a variety of ways. The oversized silhouette and tasteful distressing, adds the perfect street style vibe and edgy touch to every look. I love using this piece to dress down anything that seems too dressy for the daytime.

Dress it Up with a Bodysuit
One of my go-to ways to dress up denim so it is nighttime appropriate is to pair with a flirtatious bodysuit. Details like eyelash lace and a high neckline definitely make this piece extra special. On top of that, when paired with hip-hugging, high-waisted jeans you’ll look dressed to the nines and ready for a spontaneous night out.

Denim Jumpsuit
If the denim updates I mentioned above were too subtle for you, try wearing a full on denim jumpsuit. To prevent a denim one piece from looking too much like work wear, add your signature accessories. For me, that consists of oversized sunglasses, nude heels, and my Gucci clutch. I love wearing denim jumpsuits when I want to look on-trend with minimum effort.
