fashion blogger mia mia mine wearing a star print black button down top for the fourth of julyI can’t believe how fast this year is going by. Summer officially hits in a few more days and July 4th will follow shortly after. It might sound too early to start thinking about your Independence Day celebrations but it’s better to give yourself time to get those outfits in. Phil and I typically like to celebrate the good old fashion way – with a BBQ followed by fireworks in the city. Since it’s such a low-key and relaxing time for us, I keep my outfits pretty simple and casual. It usually comprises of the classic red, white and blue color combo or denim with a patriotic print. Today, I wanted to share a some chic and easy Fourth of July outfits that will look patriotic and stylish at the same time.

Patriotic Prints

If you’re rarely caught in fun, quirky prints, use this holiday as an excuse to break them out and try something new. While I’m not one for wearing the American flag print from head-to-toe, I do enjoy more subtle patriotic themes, such as a star prints. Below, I pulled some of my favorite star-printed blouses and dresses that will get you through the holiday.

Patriotic Colors

If you’re not one for prints, wearing patriotic colors on the fourth is a great way to celebrate without going over-the-top. It can be as simple as pairing a basic white tank with denim cut-offs, and a red duster. I love that a lightweight red knit is as eye-catching as it is comfortable. Also, keep in mind that you don’t have to wear all the colors of the flag at once. You’ll look just as festive in one of the colors.

Stripes

When I think of the perfect casual summer look, it almost always includes stripes. I love the Americana vibes, which couldn’t be more perfect for the 4th of July. With stripes, I typically like to keep it casual in cut-off shorts and espadrilles. You can also put a feminine twist on your stripe button down by tying it into a knot at the waist.

Monochromatic White

You can’t go wrong with an all-white ensemble or a little white dress for any summer outing. It gives off nautical vibes and also makes for the ultimate weekend getaway look. To make it more festive, add hints of red or blue for more of a patriotic theme. If your July 4 celebrations involve a bit more than just getting together with friends, this may be the best option since it is so easy to dress up or down.

Easy Shirt Dress

If red, white, and blue feels too cliche for your style, try a comfy shirt dress with a denim jacket. It’s a versatile style you can wear plenty of ways and it won’t leave you feeling too constricted while watching the fireworks. You can also use it as a coverup if you plan to be spending the first part of the day by the pool.
