I always rely on neutrals to get me through any season, but especially fall and winter when layering is crucial. It offers an easy way to maximize your wardrobe since you can essentially mix and match everything together. But aside from versatility, neutrals always look more chic and expensive when they’re styled with similar tones. Fall is really the best time for a neutral palette because you can layer different textures to bring more dimension into an outfit. You can even get away with wearing some of your favorite summer pieces. With the weather finally taking a turn from mild to chilly temperatures, I wanted to share some of my recent outfits that you can recreate and channel into endless combinations.
Kate Spade Leather Jacket (similar here, better for budget here) | Equipment Shirt (wearing an XS, better for budget here) | Anine Bing Lace Bralette | Blank Denim Faux Leather Pants (under $100 – run TTS) | Chanel Bag | Celine Edge Sunglasses (similar here, better for budget here) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (similar here, better for budget here)
Moto Jacket & White Blouse
Classic button down blouses are a must-have for me all year round. Depending on the look you’re going for, you can tuck it in for a more tailored feel or tie it at the waist for a feminine twist. During fall and winter, I like to keep it simple and relaxed with a moto jacket draped over my shoulders – it always adds the right amount of edge.
Balmain Blazer (wearing an FR34, better for budget here) | Alix NYC Black Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | Zara Black Denim (run TTS) | Golden Goose Leopard Sneakers (run TTS) | Gucci Velvet Bag | Celine Sunglasses (sold out – similar here, better for budget here) | Similar Earrings (better for budget here)
All Black With A Pop of Leopard
An all black outfit is the easiest thing to pull off during the colder seasons. All you need is a smart blazer to tie it together. It may be a simple look, but it always feels polished and expensive. Adding a pop of leopard is a great way to break up the darker tones – and you can opt for sneakers if you’re into that street style chic vibe.
Burberry Mega Check Scarf (similar here, better for budget here) | Burberry Sandringham Trench Coat(wearing a US 0, better for budget here) | ASTR Black Turtleneck Sweater (wearing an XS) | Blank Denim Vegan Leather Leggings(under $100! run TTS) | Gucci Sneakers (size down by 1/2, better for budget here and here) | Saint Laurent Red Bag (better for budget here) | Givenchy Sunglasses (better for budget here)
Trench Coat & Leather Pants
Outerwear can really make or break an entire fall outfit, so I included tons of options in this round up, which wouldn’t be complete without a timeless trench coat. It’s such an iconic jacket and I love finding new ways to wear it. However, nothing beats the simplicity of a turtleneck sweater and some leather pants. You can easily rotate the pants for joggers, leggings, or jeans for more variety.
Topshop Biker Jacket (wearing a US 4 – size up) | Nordstrom Gray Sweater (wearing a XXS) | Topshop Gray Jeans (wearing a 25 – size up) | Givenchy Antigona Bag | Gianvito Rossi Heels | Saint Laurent Sunglasses
Charcoal Sweater & Gray Denim
Another one of my fall staple outfit combinations I wear every year is a cozy sweater with jeans. I have accumulated so many sweaters in different colors, cuts, and silhouettes, but gray tones have been a huge favorite this year. I love how chic a charcoal sweater pairs with gray denim – it’s versatile enough to be styled with classic blue jeans too.
Burberry Poncho (sold out, similar here) | ASTR Turtleneck Sweater (wearing an XS) | Michelle Mason White Leather Skirt (on sale now – wearing a o0) | Gucci Velvet Bag | Stuart Weitzman Over-The-Knee Boots (run TTS) | Givenchy Sunglasses
Cape & Over The Knee Boots
A plaid cape will freshen up your outerwear collection this fall, and it looks great with everything from sweater dresses to leather mini skirts and more. I’ve been wearing mine on repeat with over the knee boots.
Revolve LPA Sweater (wearing an XS) | Revolve NBD Faux Leather Pants (wearing an XXS) | Bottega Veneta The Pouch (in Mist color) | Gianvito Rossi Heels (run TTS) | Celine ‘Edge’ Sunglasses (similar here, better for budget here)
Oversized Sweater & Nude Heels
An oversized sweater paired with matching heels is a foolproof combination that works for any occasion. When styled with skinny jeans or leather pants, it creates a streamlined effect that makes you seem taller and leaner.
Dior Scarf (worn as a headband) | Mango Ivory Coat (wearing an XS) | L’Academie Sweater (wearing an XS) | Similar White Jeans | Bottega Veneta Pouch (in ‘Mist’ color, available in stock here) | Gianvito Rossi Suede Heels
Ivory Coat & White Denim
When you’re stuck on what to wear or need to get dressed on a time crunch, an all-white look is incredibly chic. Try white jeans with an ivory knit top and tailored coat. Classic pumps and an oversized clutch will dress up the outfit instantly.
Mango Camel Coat (wearing an XXS/XS) | H&M Black Crewneck Sweater (similar hereand here) | Superdown Faux Leather Skirt (wearing an XXS) | Christian Louboutin Leopard Heels (similar here) | Bottega Veneta The Pouch (available here) | Givenchy Sunglasses
Camel Coat & Leather Skirt
A classic camel coat is one of my most worn outerwear pieces. It never fails to look elegant and easily drapes well over any look. I love pairing a long camel coat with a leather skirt and pumps. It’s the perfect trifecta for cozy chic, and you can always switch it up with sweater dresses.
Lovers + Friends White Sweater (sold out, similar here) | Blank Denim Faux Leather Pants (wearing a 24, also love these) | Raye Black Booties (run TTS) | Bottega Veneta The Pouch (in white – DM or email to buy) | Celine Edge Sunglasses (similar here, better for budget here)
Chunky Sweater
I live for chunky knits and tend to buy multiple styles, especially in neutral colors. A unique texture with voluminous sleeves will give your knit collection a nice update. Although you can always wear it with jeans, I love that chunky sweaters work over maxi dresses and look stunning with midi skirts too.
Revolve Faux Fur Coat (wearing an XXS) | Revolve Sweater (wearing an XS) | GRLFRND Denim (wearing a 24 – runs TTS) | Saint Laurent Sunset Bag (larger size here – on sale now!) | Christian Louboutin So Kate Heels
Faux Fur Coat & Turtleneck Top
Playing with textures is one of the best and easiest ways to add interest to an outfit. I love wearing a turtleneck top in the same color family as a faux fur coat. You can easily wear both with a variety of bottoms and different colored jeans.
