How to Score the Luxury Pieces in My Closet for Less

fashion blogger wearing a chanel bag for fallI’m a big believer in treating yourself, especially after a big accomplish or checking off a milestone. One of my favorite ways to do that has been splurging on a designer bag or pair of shoes. My Chanel flap bag was my very first designer handbag, and soon after that, I found myself adding more to my wardrobe each year. I’m always looking for ways to save on designer purchases whether it’s taking advantage of limited sales or buying them preowned. And I’ll almost always checkout preowned styles before making a purchase.

Although there are many retailers out there to help you score designer pieces for less, eBay has always been one of my favorites. I’ve shopped on the site for preowned goods for years now, and it’s only gotten better with their Authenticate program. It’s seriously the best way to shop without having to worry about getting a fake. With the holidays coming up, you can really treat yourself or a loved one to something special.

In most cases, luxury pieces on eBay tend to be even cheaper than consignment shops since you are purchasing them directly from the original owner. You can usually score a designer bag for 20-40% off original prices. Today, I wanted some of my favorite recent designer pieces that are worth checking out on eBay.

Louis Vuitton Luggage

I’ve grown my designer handbag collection quite a bit over the last several years, so I’ve started to focus more on quality luggage. Louis Vuitton was a no brainer for me because of the signature look and quality craftsmanship that I know will last for years. I purchased the Louis Vuitton Pégase Légère earlier this year and wanted to get the Louis Vuitton Keepall during my trip to Paris, but it was sold out everywhere. Both of these pieces can be found on eBay for much less.

Louis Vuitton Tote Bags

I’m all about investing in timeless classics that you’ll get great use out of. Over the years, I’ve figured out which styles are the most practical, and that’s been Louis Vuitton totes. I love both the Neverfull MM and GM bags, and almost never travel without them. Both can hold so much and are great for everyday.

Chanel Flap Bags

I’m always looking for the next bag to purchase whether it’s a trendy or classic style, and I’ve definitely learned which ones will will be great investments. I think it’s safe to say that Chanel flap bags hold their value best if you want to sell them later on down the line. Although I’d never sell mine, it’s reassuring to know that I have a great investment piece.

Gucci Bags

Gucci also makes some of my favorite bags, and I’ve been really into their styles these past few years. They’ve surprisingly held their value well and often sell out so fast. If you missed out on a Gucci bag, eBay is a great place to look for it – like this velvet clutch.

One of my favorite designer accessories are belts, but they can be really expensive for being such a small accessory. If you really want to make a statement with your outfit, eBay is really a great place to grab a luxury belt for less. I love that they make great a gift too!
