Cozy Chic Outfits to Wear on Christmas Day

The past few weeks have been going by so fast, and Christmas is coming up next. Although wrapping up any holiday shopping is priority, it’s also important to start planning your outfits too. This is the perfect time to shop if you need to order a few last-minute pieces to complete your look as most retailers are still guaranteeing delivery before Christmas. Dressing in festive attire that’s equally comfortable can be tricky, so I thought I’d put together some cozy chic outfits that are perfect whether you’re celebrating with friends or lounging around the house with family.
Macy’s Flannel Pajamas (on sale) | Ugg Dakota Moccasins | Macy’s Flannel Pajamas (on him – sold out, similar here) | Ugg Ascot Slippers
Flannel Pajamas & Sherpa Slippers
Christmas Day attire doesn’t get anymore classic than cozy pajamas and uber soft slippers. If your family stays up all night to open presents, then this is the way to go. I love a plaid print because it never goes out of style and can be worn throughout winter. Pajamas also make a great last minute Christmas gift.
Scoop Sweater Dress (wearing an XS) | Kyi Kyi Pompom Beanie | King of Christmas Flocked Tree (10′) | King of Christmas Flocked Mini Trees
Fair Isle Sweater Dress
If you’re looking for an outfit that will feel relevant beyond Christmas, try a fair isle sweater dress. Fair Isle patterns were once considered part of the “ugly Christmas sweater theme”, but modern iterations have been updated to be so chic. It’s such a great winter piece that looks great for any holiday occasion.
Majorelle Sequin Joggers (wearing an XXS) | GRLFRND Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Sunset Wallet On Chain (also love this one) | Similar Wingback Chair
Sequin Joggers & Turtleneck Top
Sequin pants are such a good idea for any Christmas party because it makes a statement at formal events but is easily toned down with casual knitwear. Once Christmas is over, you can easily repurpose your sequin pants into a New Year’s Eve ensemble. I’m also loving this sequin skirt if you don’t want to wear pants.
Mango Chunky Sweater Dress (exact style sold out, similar here and here) | Similar Anthropologie Fair Isle Socks | Daniel Wellington Watch | King of Christmas Flocked Tree (10′) | King of Christmas Flocked Mini Trees
Winter White Knit & Cozy Socks
A winter white knit is the most versatile piece you can own. It’s one of my favorite things to wear during the holidays because it reflects the snow and looks even cuter with over-the-knee socks. It may not always seem like the most practical choice, but it’s so chic and can be pulled together easily.
Chanel Bag (medium size) | Similar Red Sweater | Asos Red Scarf | GRLFRND Denim (similar here) | Gucci Belt (more sizes here, read my ‘Guide To Buying A Gucci Belt’ HERE) | Christian Louboutin So Kate Heels (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (better for budget here) | Daniel Wellington Watch
Pop of Red
For a casual holiday look, I love incorporating festive colors like red into my outfits. Layering red on red is a great way to channel that holiday spirit without looking cheesy. If red isn’t your color, you can always opt for green or white too.
Express Cutout Sweater (exact style sold out, similar here, here, and here) | Express Faux Leather Leggings
Cutout Sweater & Leather Pants
A super chilly Christmas calls for your most stylish yet practical pieces. For me, that’s usually leather pants and a cozy sweater. This season, I’ve been loving shoulder cutouts – they’re such an unexpected twist on a basic knit.
