There are always so many trends I want to try at the start of a new season and they’re hard to resist. Although I typically invest in classic staples that I can wear year-round, I’ll add in trendier pieces to keep my look updated. Clothes and accessories can add up quickly, so I’ve been shopping for stylish but more affordable pieces at Walmart. They don’t just offer the latest trends, but also great basics that are perfect for layering in with any outfit. If you’re on the fence about splurging on spring’s buzziest items, I wanted to share five of my favorites that you can score from Walmart for under $50 right now.

1. Statement Denim
Although I am a huge fan of more trendy denim silhouettes such as the mom jean or vintage 90’s washes, my all time favorite is the classic skinny jean. Luckily, Walmart has them all right now. The sheer versatility of this bottom is enough to convince you to grab a pair or two for the new season. When shopping for the ideal jean, look for denim that hugs your curves and hits the top of your ankle. These tricks always ensure your denim always looks flattering on. I always recommend Sofia Jeans to people because it is such a good quality for being under $50.
2. Safari Jackets
My wardrobe relies heavily rely on neutral shades that will never go out of style. A trend I have noticed this season that favors neutrals is safari-inspired jackets. Lightweight utility jackets are perfect for throwing on over a dress, skirt, or even those basic jeans and a t-shirt. When it comes to investing in outerwear, stick to shades such as beige or army green, so you can wear them with everything and maximize their use all season long!
3. Strappy Sandals
Every woman needs updated sandals to round off her springtime look. These Scoop heels from Walmart are so cute and they go a long way in terms of making sure you look more put together. I love that they can take you from day to night in a pinch. I’m also eyeing the white pair (here) and love these slide sandals too. Another fun sandal trend to try are PVC heels – they give off a chic modern vibe.
4. Woven & Basket Bags
Woven and basket bags are looking even more sophisticated this spring with unique, structured shapes. They’re a great way to bring a polished yet seasonal spin to an outfit. You can carry them to the office or on your next beach vacation.
The fashion industry has definitely taken a turn this season as there’s been a huge focus on basics. Every good outfit always starts with a strong foundation, and Walmart has an amazing selection of basics that look more expensive than they cost. For instance, this bodysuit and this oversized tee. With basics being a big trend at the moment, you easily pull off a chic spring ensemble by simply adding a pair of strappy heels or woven bag to your look.
