I’ll admit I’m slow to build up my spring wardrobe, but I really try to take advantage of stocking up on vacation pieces when my favorite retailers have site-wide sales. In case you missed it, you can still take up to 25% off at Shopbop and Bloomingdales this weekend. I typically use this opportunity to shop for vacation outfits in particular because there are so many new pieces on my wish list that won’t get marked down till mid-summer. It’s not only a great way to shop the newest trends, but to save on them too! So, if you’re ramping up your travel plans these next few months, here are some ideas for perfect vacation outfits.
A matching set is the ultimate vacation piece. They’re so effortless yet elegant, which couldn’t be more ideal for spring. Whether it’s a skirt and top combo or ribbed set, you’ll be able to mix and match them with everything else in your suitcase too.
Bikini & Swimsuit Coverup
A spring vacation for me usually requires a bikini. I love getting away from Minnesota and visiting the beach or some place tropical. This season, bikini trends have taken a turn and are more modest and simple in design than previous years. I’m all for the high-waisted bikini sets and minimalist designs.

Denim & Basic Tee
Denim and t-shirts are another vacation must-have for me. Since I love exploring new destinations, I’ll always pack a pair of distressed jeans or denim cutoffs for practicality and ease. They also make for great airplane outfits.

Finding cute new tops to wear always gets me in vacation mode. The one style I can never get tired of is a romantic top. When you’re not on vacation, it can easily go from the office to dinner to the weekend. They look great paired with anything from jeans to cutoff shorts or a knit skirt.

Joggers & Basic Tank
I’ll often dress up when I’m on vacation, but I love chic, comfortable outfits too. A pair of satin joggers makes a basic tank or bodysuit feel elevated. You can add a pair of strappy heels to dress it up further or keep it comfy with your favorite slide sandals.
Casual Day Dress
I can live in casual dresses once the weather warms up. I always pack them for my spring and summer trips because they take up little space and are so easy to accessorize. Lately, I’ve been crushing on relaxed silhouettes and neutral colored pieces. I rounded my favorite day dresses below that aren’t too flashy, but not too basic either.
You guys know I’ll always take advantage of the opportunity to dress up. When Phil and I are traveling together, we’ll make an effort to go out for at least one nice dinner. I have a major soft spot for sexy, feminine dresses.
