Over the past year, I’ve shared so many tips on how to curate a high-quality, classic wardrobe that will sustain you for years. While I still hold on to that belief, I think it’s important to take note of newer styles that may be worth adding to your wardrobe. Lately, that there seems to be a shift in the industry and fashion staples are trending again. With just a few small tweaks, they feel completely upgraded but with the same classic look. You probably already have most of them hanging in your closet, but these updated basics are definitely worth adding to your shopping list. They’ll fit in seamlessly with your style and you’ll be able to wear them years down the line. Keep scrolling for my favorites.
Amazon Square Neck Bodysuit (wearing an XS – under $20!)
1. Square Neck Bodysuits
Bodysuits have been one of my go-to pieces for years because they create the most seamless, flattering silhouette under everything. A small detail that’s given them a major update is the square neckline. It’s not too revealing yet feels sexy in a modern way.

2. Racer Tank Tops
There are so many 90’s trends that are coming back, but one of my favorites is the racer tank top. It feels so much fresher than a basic white tee and can be dressed up or down with different bottoms. The ease and effortlessness of this piece is just perfect for the warmer seasons ahead.
3. Denim Skirt
Denim skirts are also coming back in a big way, and I’m loving how easy they are to wear – like your favorite pair of jeans. With the weather warming up, you’ll be able to pair them with basic tees and sneakers or heeled sandals.
Abercrombie Sweatpants (wearing an XXS)
4. Sweatpants
Comfort has been high on my priority list, especially with the stay-at-home orders in place. Sweatpants have become an essential for me because they’re not constricting and feel so cozy. Every celebrity and influencer also happens to be wearing them more than leggings this year.
Abercrombie Cardigan (wearing an XS)
5. Boxy Cardigan
I have always been a fan of cardigans for their extra warmth and comfort. But this season’s trending style comes in oversized, boxy silhouettes that are great for layering or wearing alone. I love that you can button it up and tuck them into your jeans or throw them over a matching silk cami.

6. White Button-Down Shirt
White button-down shirts are the wardrobe staple that’s suddenly trending again. Whether you wear them tucked into jeans, underneath a blazer, or belted at the waist, they always look so polished. You probably already have one in your wardrobe, but I rounded up some of my favorites below if case you’re in need of an updated style.

7. Slide Heeled Sandals
When it comes to shoes, I strive to stick to high-quality, classic styles. However, one that I’m caving into this season are simple high-heeled slides. They look so chic with everything from dresses to denim. Since most of them feature a lower heel height and square toe, they’re easier on the feet compared to other heels.
