Affordable Basics To Wear At Home Now

The pieces in my wardrobe that I wear most are no doubt basics. While basics span across various garments and clothing categories, the ones I’ve been leaning into most have been laid-back pieces like comfy loungewear, high-waisted jeans, and plain t-shirts. Since I’ve been spending the bulk of my time at home, there hasn’t been a need to dress up a whole lot. I’ve been able to overhaul my daily essentials without spending too much by shopping at Walmart. If you’re looking to do the same, then keep scrolling because I’m sharing my favorite affordable basics that you can wear at home now but also keep in rotation for later. These pieces aren’t just cool and casual but ridiculously comfortable too.
Tees & Bodysuits
A chic fitted t-shirt or bodysuit in a neutral color is the easiest thing to dress up or down. All you need to do is layer on a blazer or throw on some gold jewelry and you’re instantly ready for an online meeting. I linked my favorite styles below that are under $25 but look really luxe and expensive.
Athleisure & Loungewear
Athleisure and loungewear are the pieces I’ve been keeping on heavy rotation. Walmart has a whole host of affordable loungewear separates you can mix and match online. I find myself reaching for a sweatshirt and sweatpants combo most lately. The great thing about working at home is that you can keep it comfy on the bottom and just swap out your top as needed for any video calls. Staying active has also been a priority for me. I’ve been loving these capri leggings for a quick jog around the neighborhood or walking the dogs.
Denim
Denim will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. I’ll usually wear denim on days I want to feel more put-together. I’m a big fan of Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara at Walmart. Having owned several pairs from the line now, I can really speak to its comfort, softness, and stretch. Other denim pieces I’m starting to transition to with the change in temperatures are cut0ff shorts and jumpsuits.
Warm Weather Accessories
I’m also slowly transitioning out of closed toe shoes into fun, strappy sandals. One of my favorite Walmart brands, Scoop, just debuted so many cute styles that are great for wearing around the house or in the backyard. I’m loving these toe-ring sandals and these lace-up flats, which look amazing with a casual denim outfit or a flirty dress. If you’ve picked up gardening recently or have just been spending more time in the yard, a straw hat is another one of my must-have accessories for staying safe in the sun.
