7 Ways to Wear the Best Faux Leather Pieces From the #NSALE

As you guys know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going strong and there are so many amazing pieces to shop from coats to sweaters and boots. However, I always end up gravitating towards the leather pieces. As much as I love real leather, it can require a big investment so I typically go for faux leather items that are easier to maintain and feel like the real thing. This year, two of the best faux leather pieces from the #NSALE are no doubt the Spanx leggings and the Blank NYC biker jacket.
They’re not only great fall pieces, but there are literally so many ways to style them! Both items are still available in all sizes, so you can still grab them if you haven’t had a chance to check out the sale. (Note that prices will go back up August 31, so don’t wait!) Nordstrom made shopping the Anniversary Sale really seamless this year with free shipping and returns – and Contactless Curbside Pickup, so you really have nothing to lose. If you need a little inspiration on how to wear these faux leather pieces, keep scrolling because I’m sharing 7 different looks below.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | Free People Tunic Sweater (sold out, similar here and here) | Stuart Weitzman Over-The-Knee Boots (run TTS, better for budget here) | Givenchy Antigona Bag
1. Faux Leather Leggings, Tunic Sweater, & Over-The-Knee Boots
For everyday wear, I love pairing leather with soft, cozy knits. This not only helps soften the toughness of leather but also makes it feel more approachable during the day. You can finish off the look with suede over-the-knee boots to add more interest. This outfit combo could pass for casual Fridays at the office, a brunch date, or weekend outing.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | Kenneth Cole Plaid Coat (similar here and here) | Halogen Cashmere Sweater (similar here) | Halogen White Tee (similar here) | Nike Air Max 270 Sneakers (similar here) | Givenchy Antigona Bag
2. Faux Leather Leggings, Plaid Coat, & Sneakers
These Spanx leggings are super fitted and suck everything in, so when wearing them during the day, I love adding oversized pieces like this menswear coat. Going for a printed piece like plaid always makes the leggings pop.

3. Faux Leather Jacket, Faux Leather Leggings, & Sneakers
Wearing leather on leather might seem hard to pull off, but the Spanx leggings make it really easy. They feel more like an athleisure piece with a bit of a sheen to them so you can pair them with a basic tee and sneakers for a casual, cool look. The leather jacket makes a nice addition during the fall mornings when the chill sets in the air.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | Halogen White Tee (similar here) | Denim Jacket | Gucci Ace Sneakers (better for budget here) | Gucci Dionysus Mini Bag | White Baseball Cap (similar here and here)
4. Denim Jacket, Basic Tee, & Faux Leather Leggings
An alternative outerwear piece to leather is a denim jacket. It feels more casual than a leather jacket but still looks super chic. This is actually one of my favorite looks to wear when I’m traveling or running errands because it’s simple, comfy and light all at the same time.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | Halogen Camel Coat (sold out, similar here and here) | Halogen Crewneck Sweater (wearing an XS) | Gucci Ace Sneakers (better for budget here) | Gucci White Marmont Mini Bag (similar here)
5. Camel Coat, Faux Leather Leggings, & Clean Sneakers
When styling leather pieces, I like to keep my outfits neutral because it always makes the outfit feel more luxe. For this look, I paired my Spanx leggings with a camel coat that I also picked up from the #NSALE. I wore sneakers for a casual vibe but could switch it up with boots for a dressier look.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | White Button-Down Shirt | Marc Fisher Booties | Brixton Fedora (similar here and here) | Louis Vuitton Toiletry Bag (similar here)
6. White Button-Down Top, Faux Leather Leggings, & Suede Booties
Most of the outfits I’ve shared so far are pretty casual, so if you’re looking for more ways to dress it up, I recommend throwing on a white button down top and a pair of booties. To up the chic factor, add a wool fedora and you’re good to go.
Blank NYC Faux Leather Jacket (wearing an XS) | Halogen White Tee (similar here) | Madewell Black Jeans (wearing a 23) | Alexandre Birman Heels | Similar Saint Laurent Bag
7. Faux Leather Jacket, Basic Tee, Black Jeans & Strappy Heels
My favorite fall outfit combination has to be a leather jacket, skinny jeans, and high-heels. I love how effortless and stylish this look feels, and it’s pretty much foolproof when I’m in a rush or don’t want to spend too much time picking out an outfit. For a date night look, you can swap out the t-shirt for a lace camisole or silk top.
