Fall is right around the corner, and there are plenty of things I’m looking forward to wearing. I typically start the season out with more affordable trends that I can wear now and build upon as we move into the new season. One of my favorite places to start is Walmart because they make it super easy to build an effortless wardrobe with basics and punctuated pieces. Their newest arrivals include some of trends that I’m most excited for, such as updated denim, luxe animal textures, and versatile knitwear. Whether you’re wanting to put together a collection of the latest trends or you just want to add some updated pieces to your wardrobe, I wanted to share the top fall trends that are readily available on a budget.

Neutral Basics

You guys know I’m obsessed with neutrals so I’m beyond thrilled that the color palette is trending in a major way. I actually find neutral clothing to be essential right now because it’s so practical with the current pandemic. The good news is, you really don’t have to spend a lot of money on neutral basics since they instantly look polished and expensive. I was really pleased with the wide range of neutral tops and knitwear from Walmart – and stocked up on several pieces! This waterfall cardigan was one of my favorite purchases.

Animal Prints and Textures

Despite the pandemic, there are still seasonal styles worth considering, like snakeskin and croc-effect accessories. I’ve been a huge fan of animal textures from the beginning because they make an outfit look more elevated. I love how they add an extra pop of texture when paired with cozy knit pieces. 

Modern Loungewear

Many of us spent the past few months in comfortable, cozy knitwear. If you’re wanting to transition the trend into fall, you’re in luck because Walmart has some really great pieces that double up as lounge and day wear. This sweatshirt is one of my favorites because it’s super soft and comes in so many colors.

Updated Denim

My go-to denim style in the fall is skinny jeans because they’re the easiest to dress up or down. They’re also the most flattering to style with boots. I’ve raved about the denim collection by Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara before, which is sold exclusively at Walmart. It’s still one of my top picks for jeans under $40. This pair comes with a flattering high waist and heavy distressing that makes for an effortless weekend look.

Romantic Dressing

Lingerie-inspired fashion will also be huge this fall and I plan to wear the trend in the form of lace tops and dresses. Walmart has some really stunning lace pieces that will up the chic factor in your wardrobe without breaking the bank. One of my favorite outfit combos in the fall is tucking a lace top into a pair of jeans. It works during the day or night – and can even be worn while you’re working.
