An Honest Review Of The Best Faux Leather Pants In My Wardrobe

fashion blogger mia mia mine wearing a balmain blazer and a NY yankees capI’ve shared various faux leather pant styles on the blog over the past few years now. Although I have a few pairs that I swear by and always resort to, I’ve also acquired newer ones as well. I wanted to break down every single pair I own for you guys and share my honest thoughts on them. Now that the weather is starting to cool down, it’s definitely a great time to invest in one or two pairs. You can style them with the season’s coziest fabrics like faux fur or shearling – or tailored pieces for an elevated look. Whether you’re looking for a true leather pant or a pair of comfy leggings, there’s a style for you. Scroll ahead for the best faux leather pants of the season.

These Blank Denim faux leather pants are a tried-and-true wardrobe staple for me. I’ve honestly gone through several pairs over the course of many years. They fit more like a pair of skinny jeans so you can wear them to work, dress them up for a date night, or even create an edgy street chic look. Even though I’m only 5’2, these are slightly cropped on me, which I love. They’re a great way to rock the leather trend without the high price tag (under $100).

If you’re looking for comfort, then nothing beats the Spanx faux leather leggings. They have more of an athleisure vibe to them with a slight sheen and seams going down the sides. They could honestly pass for a pair of workout leggings, but I find them so comfortable I really don’t mind. You can literally wear them while you’re at home all day and they feel amazing. I especially love wearing mine with other athleisure pieces (as seen above) – although you could easily dress them up with the right pieces too.

For a true leather legging that feels more elevated, I can’t recommend the Commando faux leather leggings enough. Unlike the Spanx, these look and feel more like a true leather fabrication. There’s no seam going down the sides and the hem is unfinished so they feel dressier. They are high-waisted and incredibly stretchy, making them super figure flattering. I love the built-in liner, which conceals any panty lines. In terms of fit, these leggings run small – I’m typically an XS but I took a S. Also, they’re not as comfortable as the Spanx – and probably wouldn’t be my first choice for wearing all day.

I purchased these Commando vinyl leggings last year and have been dying for the temperatures to drop so I can wear them again. I absolutely love the look of these leggings; however, they’re not the easiest to get on. Once they’re on though, they immediately conform to the body and hold everything in place. The look is so unique, slimming, and incredibly sexy. They will squeak while you walk so be sure to rub some oil or vaseline between the thighs to resolve the issue! Like the Commando leather leggings, I felt that these ran small so be sure to go up one size.

My latest vegan legging purchase is from Abercrombie, which is great if you’re looking for a budget-friendly pair. They feature a high waist and soft inner lining, making them super comfortable to wear. I found them a little long for my height but nothing too ridiculous. Quality wise, they’re not exactly on par with the Commando leggings but you definitely get the look for less. Overall, I felt that they were worth the price and loved how they looked with cozy knits and layers.

When I want the faux leather look but don’t want to wear anything too warm or constricting, I reach for a pair of coated jeans. My favorite pair of the season is this one by Joe’s Jeans. It comes in a variety of colors that are great for the fall season, including black, olive green, dark brown and more. I recommend sizing down so you get a true form-fitting, skinny fit all day long. They’re a bit pricey, but worth the investment if you want the look of leather combined with the comfort of denim.

Real leather leggings are incredibly pricey but justifiable if you love and appreciate the buttery soft texture, warmth, and luxe factor. This pair by INTERMIX is constructed of 100% lambskin with a stretch jersey backing, and they’re the most luxurious leggings in my wardrobe. Like any other leather legging, they can be dressed up or down for any occasion. I especially love the zippered hem so I can wear them undone as seen above.
