The Updated Winter Staples You Need To Look Put-Together

Since it’s so easy to get distracted by all the new trends, I wanted to share the updated winter staples I’ll be focusing on. It’s always the key pieces, like the perfect wool coat, well-fitting denim, a simple sweater, and lug sole boots, that hold up in my wardrobe. I’m always able to find the best styles at Nordstrom since they have such a great variety of brands from luxe labels to more affordable ones. They’re also constantly updating their inventory with the latest styles so you know that what you’re buying is relevant. This makes shopping a breeze for me regardless of time or season. Keep scrolling to find out what’s in my winter shopping cart now.

Tailored Coat

Winter can be such an expensive season to shop for, which is why it’s so important to invest in well-crafted pieces. One of those pieces for me is a tailored coat that you can wear on the weekends, to work, and for formals. This Topshop coat is so versatile and I love the roomy fit that works well for layers.

Simple Sweater

As much as I love statement details on a sweater, it’s always the simple, soft knit tops that I keep in my wardrobe forever. Like a great coat, they can be dressed up or down and feel appropriate for a variety of occasions.

Button Down Top

Button-down tops are definitely trendy again, but I love that they’re so classic at the same time. They’re always so chic layered underneath a coat or a blazer in the winter. For a trendier look, you can slip on a sweater vest or throw a cable knit cardigan on top.

Versatile Leggings

Leggings are no longer meant to be worn at home. I especially love faux leather styles for a cozy chic look. The simple addition of tall boots really help to elevate them too. I’ve had my faux leather leggings for years now and the fact that I continue to reach for them repeatedly prove that they’re a staple with longevity. If you want to keep things interesting this winter, try a vinyl pair like this.

Clean Denim

There are so many denim trends that come and go, but one that will never fail you is a high-waisted cut with a clean wash. Whether you’re into straight-leg jeans, skinny jeans, or cropped denim, anything without too much distressing will make for a long lasting look.

Chunky Boots

Thick, lug sole boots have always been a crucial part of my winter wardrobe – and it just so happens to be that they’re one of the season’s top trends. I love how they dress down tailored pieces and also add some edge to casual looks.

Winter Accessories

If there’s anything that makes a winter outfit look more put together, it’s no doubt some cozy accessories. From cashmere scarves to wool fedoras and pom pom beanies, Nordstrom has it all at the best prices.
