How To Update Your Workwear Wardrobe This Year

I’m sure your workwear wardrobe has taken a complete transformation over the past year, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get dressed for the occasion. The great thing is that you now have more flexibility in how you build your 9-5 outfits. Instead of the usual full-blown suit, you can get away with mixing casual and polished pieces for an easy chic look. Today, I wanted to share some of the outfits you can wear while working whether you’re in the comfort of your home, heading into the office – or doing a mix of both.

Colorblock Sweater & Gray Jeans
If you’re lucky enough to still be working from home, then it’s probably a good idea to get out of your pajamas to stay motivated and inspired. I love how a neutral colorblock sweater freshens up the usual jeans and knitwear combo. Gray jeans are also a great alternative to the usual black.

Sweater Dress & Knee High Boots
One of my winter must-haves is a cozy sweater dress that can go from day to night. I typically pair my sweater dresses with over the knee boots on the weekends or when I’m going out in the evenings. However, I find that knee-high boots make for a more office-appropriate look. This is something I’d wear if I was going to a physical office.

Faux Leather Pants & Blazer
If you want to throw some trendier pieces into your workwear wardrobe, don’t be afraid to try out some faux leather trousers. They definitely work for the office especially in colors like black or beige. Just style them with a smart blazer and heels.

Neutral Coat With A Sweater & Dress or Skirt
When it comes to creating the perfect winter workwear outfit, layers are essential. Play with textures like cable knits and satin. A turtleneck sweater with a pleated skirt or satin dress is chic yet comfy for wearing around the house. If you need to get out, just throw on a neutral coat and boots to add that professional touch.

Plaid Coat & Tie Waist Trousers
If you’re not currently working in an office, but still take on the occasional in-person meeting, I highly recommend adding a plaid coat to your wardrobe. It’s ultra chic with any workwear look – especially high-waisted trousers and a sweater. When you’re not doing anything work-related, you can throw it over sweatpants or jeans.
