The Fashion Trends I’m Looking Forward to Most in 2021

One of the best things about the start of a new year is all the new fashion trends that brands and retailers start dropping. I find that there are always so many to shop from, but I strive to stick to the ones with a little more longevity. This year, it’s all about luxe loungewear, practical outerwear and romantic pieces. If you’re wanting to get an early start on updating your wardrobe for the year, then keep scrolling for the 2021 fashion trends to keep an eye out for. The best part is that you can begin incorporating them into your winter outfits now!
Goodnight Maracroon Plaid Shirt Jacket | Commando Vinyl Leggings | Chanel 19 Shearling Handbag (better for budget here) | Topshop Faux Fur Baseball Cap
Shacket
The shacket was a key outerwear trend of 2020 and has carried over into 2021. I’ve actually been living in them because of how practical they are. Given their lightweight nature, I won’t be surprised to see fashion girls wearing them even once spring rolls around.
Max Mara Teddy Bear Coat (better for budget here and here) | Bloomingdale’s Ribbed Knit Jumpsuit | Timberland Boots | Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack | NY Yankees Cap | Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Tote
Ribbed Knits
While ribbed knit textures are nothing new, they’re popping up more and more from loungewear to jumpsuits and everyday casual wear. I’m a fan not only because ribbed knits are comfy and cozy but they’re perfect to work from home in. You can expect lighter textures and sleeveless silhouettes take over for spring.
Cami NYC Lace Bodysuit (exact style sold out, similar here – better for budget here) | Levi’s Denim (wearing a 24, under $100) | Saint Laurent Sunset Wallet On Chain | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here) | Venus Et Fleur
Modern Romance
I absolutely love feminine, romantic pieces like lace blouses, billowy sleeve details and sheer fabrications. I’m so glad that this trend is back for spring but in more modern cuts and silhouettes.
Topshop Camel Coat (wearing a US 2) | Nike Sweatshirt (wearing an XS) | Commando Faux Leather Leggings (wearing an XS) | Nike Daybreak Sneakers | Topshop Faux Fur Baseball Cap | Givenchy Antigona Bag
Tracksuits
Tracksuits haven’t always struck me as being “chic”, but I have to admit that the newer, sleek designs have convinced me otherwise. Lately, I can’t seem to pass up a neutral set paired with a tailored coat.
Revolve White Lace Top (wearing an XXS) | Amanda Uprichard White Pants (wearing an XS) | Bottega Veneta The Pouch (in ‘Mist’ color, better for budget here) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here)
Wide Leg Pants
2021 is all about loose, slouchy silhouettes when it comes to bottoms, and I’m here for the leg-lengthening trend. While you probably won’t catch me in baggy jeans, you will definitely find me in high-waisted, wide-leg trousers paired with delicate, feminine tops.
Burberry Trench Coat | Blank Denim Faux Leather Pants (wearing a 24, run TTS) | Burberry Scarf | Gucci Velvet Bag (sold out, similar here) | Gucci Ace Sneakers | Givenchy Sunglasses
Trench Coats
Trench coats are a wardrobe classic but they haven’t been as popular of an outerwear piece in recent years. You can expect to see their comeback this spring, which I’m so excited about because they elevate anything and everything. I love how easy they are to throw on over dresses, jeans and more.
LoveShackFancy Dress (wearing an XS, better for budget here) | Rag & Bone Panama Hat (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Tote | Castañer Wedges (better for budget here) | Daniel Wellington Watch | Similar Bracelet
Tote Bags
Tote bags will also be back in a major way, especially in canvas and linen fabrications. This more practical bag holds just about everything you need on a daily basis – and it goes perfectly with any outfit. You guys know how much I love my Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Tote. I can’t wait to bring it back out as soon as the weather starts to warm up.
