The Color Combinations I Wear Most In the Winter

Whether it’s brown and black or gray and tan, neutrals make for a foolproof look that works year-round. I love how each shade looks individually – but they’re even better when mixed together. You guys see me wearing various neutral tones throughout the year, but I wanted to share the ones I wear most in the winter today. The next time you have an “I have nothing to wear” moment, try one of the color combinations below for a cozy, timeless look.

Black & Camel

Black and camel isn’t just one of the color combo’s I swear by. A quick scroll through Instagram will show you that it’s every fashion girl’s staple. When you’re in a style rut, just throw a camel coat over a head-to-toe black outfit. Statement pieces like a teddy bear coat and over-the-knee boots elevate this basic look.

Black & White

Black and white might seem like the most boring combination ever, but my trick to making it interesting is through some texture play. A blend of cozy knits, faux leather, suede or puffed up outerwear livens up this basic color palette.

White & Ivory

I’m always on the hunt for ivory cold-weather staples. I like how the color brightens up my skin tone – and it always looks soft and feminine. I’ll often pair it with a mix of white and beige layers for that effortless winter white ensemble.

Gray & Tan

For the longest time, gray and tan was a huge fashion faux pas. However, as time goes on, I see more and more of these fashion rules being broken. This one is no different. In fact, I’ve been mixing gray and camel tones for a softer contrast but still chic look.

Black & Red

The only color outside of neutrals that get me really excited is red. I love anything red from handbags to shoes and dresses to sweaters. I especially love how red pops against black. This color combo always feels sophisticated and sexy, which is right up my style alley.

White & Brown

Brown is one of the newer colors that I’ve embraced this season, and I’m loving how modern and chic it looks. It’s one of the best colors to wear with white since it tempers that stark, chalky effect white can have in the winter. You can rock this duo to work for an understated but elegant office attire.
