4 Statement Trends You Can Pull Off This Summer

There’s no shortage of basics in my wardrobe, and while I love each and every staple I own, I must admit that it feels good to switch things up. With a wealth of trends on the market from 90’s fashion to neon brights, it can be hard to narrow down the ones worth buying into. I often recommend shopping at the retailers that are known to offer on-trend collections season after season – and are budget-friendly. This usually makes shopping much less stressful as you have a curated collection to pick from. For me, one retailer that excels in the trend department is Express. I’ve been wearing so much of their summer staples – but have been gravitating towards their statement trends and accessories. Ahead, I’m sharing four statement pieces that are too good to pass up.
Jumpsuits & Rompers
Jumpsuits and rompers alone might not be that groundbreaking, but when adorned with over the top details like ruffles, eyelet, or even a bold print, it can be game changing. I picked up this Express jumpsuit for the tie-waist detail and one shoulder neckline that puts a fun spin on your one piece. It’s such a head-turner and I get so many compliments when I wear it.
Saturated Colors
Express‘ summer collection is injected with so many saturated tones from pinks to reds and blues. These are all great colors to try if you’re getting bored of the typical black and white summer pieces. I linked several cute tops below that would look endlessly chic with a simple pair of jeans.
Pleated Fashion
Pleats are so eye-catching so they always make me feel fancy. I’ve been loving all of Express‘ pleated offerings from dresses to tops. You can take them on your next vacation to create some statement-making outfits – or even wear them to the office. It makes any outfit look that much more expensive (even though you can grab them for under $100).
Puff Sleeves
Finally, the last statement trend that every girl needs to embrace this season is puff sleeves. Not only are they the definition of feminine, romantic style, but they essentially require no accessorizing to look chic. It’s the ultimate party piece that you can also rework into a day-time outfit.
