The heart of fall fashion is all about staples. Think foundational pieces that are classic yet versatile enough to work for any occasion. This season, there are tons of classics refreshed with updated twists – and they truly make a high impact in your wardrobe. Some of my favorites include luxury knitwear, anything leather and ornate party wear. Going the investment route with these pieces is key since they’ll hold up better, enabling you to weave them into countless looks. Of course I don’t splurge on everything but when I do, Neiman Marcus is one of the first places I look. Luxe knitwear is your solution to crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and chilly evenings. I always advocate investing in styles made from cashmere, wool, or a mix of the two because they’re not just long lasting but are guaranteed to keep you warm. I normally wouldn’t categorize party wear as staple investment pieces, but after a year of putting off social events, it’s definitely worthwhile to spend more in this category. Handbags are a fail-proof investment. As long as you buy the right one, it’ll have a place in your closet for years to come. You guys have been asking me about bags under $500, and some of my favorites are Nanushka, Danse Lente and Staud.
