My Daily Harvest Review – Is It Worth It?

fashion blogger daily harvest mealsAs it gets harder to balance a busy life with healthy habits, I’ve started to explore meal delivery services that take the hassle out of eating well. I definitely don’t go to the gym as often as I’d like, so I try to eat more balanced meals filled with high nutritional benefits as well as smaller (but more frequent) portions. I have to admit that it’s gotten harder to cook at home and eating takeout everyday isn’t the healthiest option. I knew I wanted something with minimal prep and cook time. That’s how I stumbled upon Daily Harvest, a company that makes it super easy to eat more fruits, veggies and vegan meals. Today, I wanted to give you guys an entire breakdown of how Daily Harvest works and what my experience has been like. If you’re interested in seeing how it can benefit you, enter my code MIAMIAMINE for up to $40 off your first box.

Keep scrolling for my thoughts on Daily Harvest – what it is and whether it’s worth it.

What Is Daily Harvest?

Daily Harvest is a plant-based, gluten-free, and dairy-free food delivery company that offers a variety of food ranging from Smoothies to Harvest Bowls and Flatbreads to Bites and Scoops, their plant-based ice cream. No matter which meals or snacks you go with, Daily Harvest’s goal is to infuse more fruits and vegetables into your diet with their with their over 90 options to choose from menu. There are minimal ingredients and definitely no preservatives or anything artificial. I love that your box is fully customizable, so you can personally handpick the items that you want.

What really drew me to Daily Harvest is that it uses ingredients that are farm-fresh and harvested at peak ripeness, then frozen within 24 hours at the source. This ensures that they’re fresher, tastier and have more nutrients locked in than when consumed out of season.

How Does It Work?

You can choose how many items are delivered per box and how often they get delivered: either weekly or monthly. The small, medium, and large boxes have weekly delivery options, while you can order the large box as a monthly delivery too. I love that you can choose the day of the week you want the food delivered for maximum convenience.

Once you place your order, the food is then shipped to your front door frozen on dry ice and you can easily pop everything into your freezer until you’re ready to eat. One of my favorite things about Daily Harvest is that it’s so flexible. You can skip deliveries, add or remove items, and change box sizes whenever you want.

What Do You Get?

What you get depends entirely on what you want. As I mentioned above, Daily Harvest has over 90 options across 11 different collections to choose from. They’re known for their Smoothies and Oat Bowls, which I’ve been loving as a one-step breakfast with minimal effort. They also have a range of Harvest Bowls and Flatbreads which I love for quick and easy lunches throughout the week.

The Strawberry + Peach Smoothie is so good! It’s easily the best smoothie I’ve ever had at home. It’s so fresh and I love how convenient it is. Just add milk (or the liquid of your choice) and blend and you have a high quality and nutrient dense smoothie in seconds. It contains strawberry, banana, peach, raspberry, goji berry and oats so it not only tastes great, but it’s filling too! I love adding protein powder to mine for a quick on-the-go meal.

Another favorite breakfast is the Apple + Cinnamon Oat Bowl. It’s super easy to prepare – just add milk (or the liquid of your choice) and place it on the stove top or in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. It makes your house smell amazing! It contains oats, cauliflower, apples, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and cinnamon.

Daily Harvest also has a variety of flatbreads and more that you can hardly tell are vegan. The kale + sweet potato one is my personal favorite. It’s fresh and filling! It contains sweet potato, red cabbage, kale, cauliflower, spinach and coriander. It’s one of my go-to meals when Phil’s performing and I’m on my own for dinner.

Their Harvest Bowls are another great lunch or dinner option that are super nourishing and taste great! My personal favorite is the Broccoli + Cheeze which contains broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potato, olive oil and nutritional yeast. I don’t know how they do it, but their plant-based nutritional yeast tastes just like the cheese sauce from your childhood favorite mac + cheese. It’s packed with vitamins A and C for immune support and healthier skin plus 15 grams of plant-based protein.

When I need an afternoon pick-me-up, I reach for the Cacao Nib + Vanilla Bites which contain chickpeas, coconuts, cacao kabocha, squash, maca and vanilla bean. I have to warn you, these are so addicting! They’re like a healthier version of cookie dough so you can enjoy them without the guilt!

Their Scoops (plant-based ice cream) might be my favorite food they make! Unlike most ice cream, theirs doesn’t contain fake fillers, gums or refined sugars and it’s dairy-free. Most nights, I have the Cold Brew + Roasted Espresso Bean Chip ice cream for dessert. It contains roasted espresso bits and 100% dark chocolate chips for a rich flavor.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of each box can change depending on which menu items you choose. For instance, Oat Bowls are $5.99, Smoothies are $7.99, while Harvest Bowls and Scoops (ice cream) are $8.99. You can mix and match the items however you’d like, which will then impact the total price of your order. The good news is, shipping is always free – and you can save up to $40 off your first order using my code MIAMIAMINE.

Is It Worth It?

To sum it all up, Daily Harvest is 100% worth it if you’re looking to save time, eat healthier and get the most nutrients out of your meals. There are so many options to pick from so you’ll never get bored and I’m sure that even kids would enjoy. So far, everything I’ve had tastes delicious. I truly believe you get what you pay for, so even though Daily Harvest meals might seem expensive, they beat having to buy and piece together high-quality fruits, veggies and supplements.
