We are heading into one of the busiest times of the year for traveling. Whether you’re hopping on an airplane to see friends and family across the country or planning a trip to the mountains, one thing is certain… You want to be warm, comfortable and stylish while you’re en route. Not only will you be wearing this outfit for a long stretch of time but you’ll probably need to be ready for some fun activities the minute you arrive. Before the frenzy begins, I thought I’d share some of my go-to fall travel looks that you can wear from your home all the way to your destination without missing a beat!

Goodnight Macaroon Shacket | Moncler Beanie | Commando Faux Leather Leggings | Chanel Combat Boots (similar here) | Similar Shearling Bag
Shacket, Leggings & Combat Boots
The perfect fall travel outfit consists of versatile pieces that you can repurpose into different outfits throughout your trip. Think shackets, faux leather leggings and combat boots. A shacket makes a cool, airport look but can also serve as a chic layer on top of a dress, be paired with denim and more.
Free Assembly Camel Sweater | Free Assembly 90’s Jeans | Scoop Slouchy Boots | Scoop Chain Clutch | Bottega Veneta Sunglasses
Chunky Knit Sweater & Loose Jeans
For shorter flights and road trips where I’ll meeting people upon arrival, I usually opt for a chunky knit sweater with jeans and booties. I love that loose, baggy jeans are all the rage right now because they’re way comfier than skinny jeans to travel in.
Max Mara Teddy Bear Coat | Bloomingdale’s Knit Jumpsuit | NY Yankees Cap | Timberland Boots | Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack | Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote
Teddy Coat, Knit Jumpsuit & Lug Sole Boots
Fall and winter outfits are the hardest to pack since the pieces are often so bulky. To make things easier, I usually wear my heaviest pieces as I’m traveling. That’s typically my teddy bear coat or a puffer and chunky boots. To keep everything else simple, wear a knit jumpsuit as your base layer. It’s warm, cozy and effortless.
Anine Bing Sweatshirt | Anine Bing Sweatpants | Prada White Combat Boots (better for budget here) | Louis Vuitton Coussin PM Bag | NY Yankees Cap
Sweatsuit & Combat Boots
When comfort is your top priority, a sweatsuit makes one of the best fall travel outfits. You can wear it as a set and then break it up and style the pieces separately like I often do. I’d wear this look with sneakers for long-haul flights. But if maximizing space is important, then of course, opt for combat boots on your feet.
Blank NYC Faux Leather Jacket | Treasure & Bond Sweater | Commando Faux Leather Leggings | Adidas Swift Run Sneakers | Givenchy Antigona Handbag | NY Yankees Cap
Moto Jacket, Faux Leather Leggings & Sneakers
It’s not impossible to look pulled together and feel toasty at the same time. All you need is a classic moto jacket, your favorite lightweight sweater, faux leather leggings and sneakers. I love this combination because you don’t have the worry about bulk and can get around easily as you’re hauling your luggage around.
Express White Coat | Amazon Brown Workout Set | Nike Daybreak Sneakers | Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (similar here)
Smart Coat, Workout Set & Sneakers
Finally, you can channel that model-off-duty vibe by rocking a workout set underneath a smart coat. This is a look I’d reserve for road trips since being in the car can be warmer than on a plane.
