Office to Date Night Pieces That Make Getting Ready Easier

Valentine’s Day is officially on the horizon, and it happens to fall on a Monday this year! If you’ll be heading into the office, then I’m sure you know the struggle of going from work to date night. In the past, I’d always bring an extra change of clothes with me if I had to be somewhere after hours. But these days, the lines are often blurred between work and play, allowing you to dress for multiple occasions with little effort. If you’re on the hunt for pieces that do just that, I can’t think of retailer who gets it better than Express. I’ve always shopped at Express even before I was a blogger because their collections cater to women on-the-go. From cute tops to sleek dresses, you can find pieces that transition seamlessly from one thing to the next. Here are my latest discoveries that function well in the office and for date nights.
Statement Bodysuit
When deciding on the best date night outfit for you, it’s important to consider the setting. If you’ll be enjoying a dinner at home – or if you’re going out for the first time, a confidence-boosting bodysuit and jeans are foolproof. You can channel the romantic Valentine’s Day vibe in a festive red top or keep it subdued and sultry with a black lace bodysuit.
Dresses & Jumpsuits
I can never pass up the opportunity to go glam in a romantic dress or fancy jumpsuit. For something truly transitional, nothing beats the versatility of a slip dress! I have this Express slip in white and red now – and it’s the best thing ever. I’m glad they released it in so many colors! I’ll often throw a sweater on top to keep it modest, then replace it with a moto jacket or blazer come night fall. All that’s left to complete the look is strappy heels and sparkly jewelry.
Light Layers
Dressing for work and for date nights can be a challenge in the winter – but that’s where layers come in handy! A good blazer, cardigan or tweed jacket can make any night-out piece appropriate for the office. At the same time, it can keep you warm when you want to dress up! That’s where Express really delivers! I can always find a wide variety of layers that either take things up a notch or tone things down.
Night Out Accessories
The right accessories can transform your look no matter how casual or dressed up you are. I always fall back on heels and a clutch to make a lasting impression. If I want to take it a step further, I’ll bring stacks of jewelry into the picture. I’m currently crushing hard on this tennis bracelet – I can’t believe it’s under $20!
