We’re only two weeks into the new year but I don’t blame you if your wardrobe is already starting to feel stale. Fortunately, it takes only a few pieces to up the ante on your winter looks – and they don’t have to cost a fortune either. I usually stalk my favorite affordable retailers, like Nordstrom, Abercrombie, Express, H&M, and Revolve for updated pieces under $100 that can make a high impact in my wardrobe. Today, I thought I’d break down my latest discoveries that won’t disappoint. While you may have seen some of these categories before, I really wanted to underscore the most budget-friendly styles that seem too good to be true.

1. Quilted Jacket
A true winter wardrobe doesn’t exist without a quilted jacket these days. With styles crafted of faux leather, shearling and colorblock designs, you can nail that easy, street chic look without even trying. If your style tends to be more traditional, a longline style like this will keep you on trend without straying too far from the classics.

2. Preppy Knits
It always amazes me how social media trends translate into everyday wear. Thanks to Tiktok, all things academia are on the rise – especially collegiate and preppy knits. If you’re looking to breathe new life into your wardrobe quick, a sweater vest, collared sweater, or plaid cardigan will do just the trick.

3. Cozy Coat
Outerwear is the cornerstone of winter fashion, so you always want to be prepped with a variety of styles. One of my all-time favorites is the faux shearling jacket. Cropped designs and edgy biker details are currently taking over – and if you’re in the market for one, my selections below will definitely impress.

4. Faux Leather Pants
I talk about faux leather pants on the blog so much that it’s probably starting to sound old. However, it’s important to note that 2022’s offerings are looking much different from those of the past. Retailers are serving up everything from straight leg silhouettes to cropped cuts and paperbag waist pants. They’re worth updating if you want to keep your winter wardrobe fresh.

5. Cutout Top
My winter uniform usually consists of a great pair of jeans and a cute top or sweater. This season, it’s all about cutouts. I love that they’re warm, sexy and so easy to style up or down. Now that almost every brand is on board with this trend, it’s more affordable than ever. You can grab a few tops to keep on rotation all season long.

6. Shirt Jacket
The shirt jacket will continue to reign supreme in 2022 – and it’s seriously the most versatile layer money can buy. The fact that it’s so lightweight just means that you’ll be able to wear it well into spring.

7. Straight Leg Jeans
I can’t think of a better time to buy denim than now. All my favorite Topshop jeans are on sale at Nordstrom for 40% off. I’ve worn Topshop for years and honestly think they make some of the best jeans under $100. Abercombie is another one of my go-to brands for affordable denim. If you’re not sure which silhouette is in style, just stick to straight leg cuts. They’re timeless and look great on everyone!
