Where to Score Chic & Affordable Activewear

A few weeks ago, I shared that creating healthy habits was on my list of New Year’s resolutions whether that means eating healthier, going to the gym or stretching daily. One of the ways I’ve been motivating myself to get there is with new workout wear. If you’ve shopped for pieces in this category lately, then I’m sure you know they come at hefty prices. And while I love high-performance sneakers and body-sculpting leggings as much as everyone else, I also don’t believe that you need to spend a pretty penny to score chic and affordable activewear. Walmart has actually become my hidden secret for functional and cute pieces under $50! They have an entire section of their site called “The Workout Shop” that makes it so easy to browse too. Whether you’re shopping for two-piece sets, sweatshirts or sneakers, you can find it all in one place. Here are all the pieces that are worth getting your hands on.
Workout Sets
When it comes to activewear, I have a few styles that I always gravitate towards. One of them is a cropped sports bra that hits right below the ribcage and high-waisted leggings. I’m obsessed with this combo because it’s not just flattering but easy to workout in. These Avia leggings are great because of the flex tech stretch fabric. It makes them supportive and squat-proof.

Sweatshirts & Hoodies
It’s definitely too cold right now to sport a workout set, so I’ll often throw a hoodie or sweatshirt on top. Walmart has the best basic selections at the best prices. This hoodie, also by Avia (and exclusive to Walmart), offers supreme comfort. It’s such an easy piece to take from workout to brunch date.
Joggers
There are days when I want to skip the leggings and opt for fleece sweatpants instead. They’re cozier than leggings, so I love wearing them during my morning mediation and stretches. And when I need to run out for a quick errand or two, I’ll just slip into some combat boots.
Sneakers
A chic activewear or athleisure look just isn’t complete without sneakers. Walmart has range of styles from sleek, minimalist trainers to fashion sneakers. I opted for this pair, which is a mixed knit material. They’re incredibly lightweight, making them ideal for workouts or walks around the block. I find myself reaching for them whenever I want a sporty, comfortable shoe.

Accessories
This list wouldn’t be complete without accessories! Although you can find active accessories at reasonable prices throughout Walmart, my favorite has to be this baseball cap! It’s only $5 and comes in multiple colors. I’m also a fan of these moisture-wicking, no-show athletic socks – and highly recommend stocking up before they sell out!
